Looking for suggestions for next fiction book
I'm looking for suggestions on fiction, historical fiction and fantasy. I'm currently reading Bernard Cornwall and hes a great story teller. I'm hoping to find more medieval stories.

Things like T.H. White, with Knights and mystical swords and kings and rags to riches stories.

Anyone into this genre that might have some suggestions?

If looking for medieval then you should check out The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett. There are also 2 other books in this series/epic.

Then check out some of his other works as he does mainly historical fiction and has a bunch of novels set around WW2 that I enjoyed.

An excellent series is john gwynne's malice, valor, ruin and wrath series. One of his favorite authors is bernard cromwell.

Not sure if it exactly fits your mold but I've got two:

Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley
Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss

And I'll give a big plus 1 to Pillars of the Earth

Not medieval, but a friend of mine always has some book in his bathroom, futuristic fantasy stuff with scantily clad muscular buxom young ladies on the covers, usually wielding swords. I call it his "sci-fi porn."

Have you done the Glenn cook series?

For some good, light historical fiction, try Clive Cussler's Isaac Bell series. It's set in the early 1900s, and the title character is a private detective. They are really good - I have all 10 of them (I find them at Goodwill stores for just a couple dollars each): https://clive-cussler-books.co...ry/books/isaac-bell/.

There isn't any real reason to read them in order, as they jump around a bit, and there aren't many spoilers if you read out of order.

The Ring of Fire series by Eric Flint is quite fun.

I believe the rags to riches storyline is tired and over-saturated. What I'd find interesting is the fall from riches to rags and the struggle to equilibrium. Just my .02.

Ken Follett's trilogy starting with Pillars of the Earth is excellent reading. I also thoroughly enjoyed Edward Rutherfurd's Sarum.

You stirred a memory that required a bit of google-fu, thanks!

I thoroughly enjoyed Leo Frankowski's "Crosstime Engineer" series with the hero Conrad Stargard. Basic plot is a Polish engineer from 1986 falls asleep in a time machine and wakes up in Poland in the 1230's.

In fact, I enjoyed it SO much, now I'm going to have to find it and re-read it.
