Does anyone know where i can pick up a tactical kit for my 870 ? its green with the mossy oak butstock. I'd like to refinish it (black) and change a few things around. Just wondering if there are any good package deals around. I've looked, but found nothing so far.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by "tactical kit."

Are you looking for like a pistol grip buttstock and a railed forend? I know Mesa Tactical has a really nice machined aluminum adapter for the 870 that has an optics rail, collapsible M4-style stock, and AR-15 grip. There's a bunch of plastic AR-15 grip and stock adapters out there as well.

Choate Machine and Tool makes a decent fixed stock with grip. There's also a few smaller manufacturers that make similar products, a quick Google search will bring up a bunch of options.

As for a forend, Choate makes one with a small piece of rail already attached for mounting a light. Surefire makes both the forend with the integrated light as well as a rail accessory forend for the 870.

I know all of these come in black so you wouldn't have to refinish them. I haven't seen a package deal where it includes a forend and a stock, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. I think if you shop around, you could get a decent pistol grip fixed stock and a Choate railed forend for under $100.

Hopefully this is what you're looking for. If not, see if you can get a pic of the exact setup you're looking for and we'll help you out from there.

If you think gun magazines are objective or honest, when's the last time they wrote a truly negative review of a firearm? Do you really think all of those pre-production models they're shooting run as reliably and shoot as accurately as they say they do?

90% of gun malfunctions can be attributed to poor ammo (reloads, Russian, etc.), lack of maintenance, weak springs, cheap magazines, or improper technique. When a well-trained shooter using a wide variety of high quality ammunition fed from a reliable, self-leveling magazine shoots your gun after it's gone through a through inspection, spring replacement, and cleaning, and still has problems, then it's the gun. Until then, the problem is YOU.

Actually, thats exactly what i was looking for. Thank you. I've been looking a lot on gunbroker and on google, but the only thing ive come up with is the Knoxx Sidewinder Kit. That one just seems a little extreme to me... I'll keep searching. Thanks again.

I'll save you some searching. Armstech AR-15 Stock and Grip Adapter @ Brownells

Just use off the shelf AR-15 parts to complete the gun. You should be able to pick up a collapsible stock for around $30-40 and a grip for around $10-15.
