Hey all, my Marine is looking for a bolt on rail extension. He’s looking to add length to his rails original length. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

On what platform, (AR) ?
What location, ( top rail, bottom)?

Something like this or something else?

If we are talking AR? and top rail? the one I have used in the past is the ARMS one. https://www.brownells.com/opti...d31687.aspx?psize=96
But with the advent of railed forends of every imaginable type that solution would not be my first choice but of course it depends on what you are trying to do?

Similar to the other guys, I'm wondering exactly which rail he means.

Top rail of the receiver for mounting optics?

Or more length on his handguard?

Something else?

Sorry for the lack of info. It’s his service rifle, M4. The pic he sent looks to be a quad rail that bolts to the existing rail(handguard) extending it several inches past the front sight post.

the above link doesn't show me anything that looks like what he wants. But in any case the ARMS swan sleeves I referenced come in many lengths and could potentially extend any rail, not just top rails. But of course this rail on top of rail idea raises everything up (or out) 3/4" and frankly sounds like a disaster waiting to happen since it becomes an instant snag point. Do you have some idea of what the actual problem is to be solved.

Probably thinking the Troy Charlie rail.

A little pricey, but definitely able to be done in the field. They're drop in, as long as there's no swivel on the front sight.

They make a slick version, as well, the Delta.

Edit: I could be wrong, but I can't think of another extended/front sight cut rail that doesn't require a different barrel nut, which would require an armorer if he's active duty.

Thanks for the replies. He is currently “auditioning” for recon and must have seen them there. He finally got some more info to me, extension is made by Ergo. Once he got me that it was a easy find. But I will forward the other options as well.
