Shockingly, I recently got "lucky" twice - 1st when I picked up a vintage Springfield Armory National Match M1A for $1,000 "out-the-door" and 2nd - when I found a LOCAL master gunsmith to make it right (my rifle had a beautiful TRW USGI National Match barrel but one of the recalled Springfield commercial bolts).
Here is a link to my story on the Firing Line forum. I thought I would share this with all the M14 fans here: http://www.m14tfl.com/upload/s...?p=502141#post502141 |

Hi Horse,
Yes, he really is meticulous. To "Tha1000" you probably have to create a sign-in to the forum to access it. If you like M14/M1A style rifles, I *highly* suggest you join up. It is free and there is so much information on M14 style rifles there. Here is a link to the main page: The Firing Line |

It's both fun and interesting to watch a competent smith work on this rifles, isn't it.

I just picked up a Loaded m1a a few weeks back, so i probably do need to join. I've only put a few rounds down range with it, but I can already tell that it is going to be one of my favorites. |
