I have a always been under the impression that having the pony on the side makes the rifle plus 2 to hit and does double damage? Is that not so? Smile

You not lie.

The seller is supposed to pick me out a good one. I have done business with him in the past.
I hope by Friday to have it in my hands.

I have no issues with Colt. Or with folks that like them and own them.

As stated by many, they make a good reliable rifle.

The Kool-Aid comment was tongue in cheek (guess I should have used an emoticon of some sort).

My only point was that in my personal opinion, I find it disappointing that Colt sometimes lets finished rifles out the door with finishes that have some minor flaws.

I know it's just cosmetic, but again, in my opinion, if you are going to make a rifle that commands the price that a Colt does, that they should weed out the lowers and uppers whose finishes have flaws.

Noveske, for example, does this. Now, I know Noveskes are going for way more than a Colt these days. I'm simply using them as an example of a manufacturer that does a very thorough job of QCing the finishes on their rifles. I've built several rifles on their chainsaw lowers and often you have to really search for the flaw in the finish that caused the lower to be chainsaw marked.

This is just my opinion on the matter. While I don't currently own a Colt, I would love to have one someday... But I won't be buying it sight unseen... Wink

Oh, and LBJ... we will be expecting pics of course!

I own quite a few AR's from different manufacturer's. Noveske, POF, BCM, among others. But my favorite is the Colt H3 Enhanced 6724.

I received my tracking number this morning, so it's won't be long before I head out to Fort Morgan for the legal transfer.

My 20" HBAR is one of my favorite rifles, it's great at the range.

I've been "Knighted" twice. -- Only AR pattern I own right now.

Need to add a Colt or two for old time sake

I've got a few of the "restricted" Colt 6920 16" bbl, and the M4 rollmarks in 14.5" pinned to 16", anyone pick up and shoot the newer 6960 with mid length 16"bbl yet?

To really be a #coltsnob, you have to correct anyone that says "pony" and remind them it is a "Rampant Colt."

Yeah really.

Thanks r2mach1 for taking delivery and for the transfer.

This is soooo old school with the 20in upper, I love it.
I am not wild about the ambi safety, so I will switch it out.

After all the crappy Colt finishes I have seen over the years, this one isn't like that.
This finish is just fine.

I get a Colt and get a nice finish.
Very nice.

I appreciate the patience and guidance shown to this wet behind the ears #ColtSnob. I'm already fighting the urge to go to the LGS this weekend and hang around until I hear someone mention "pony". I'll just have to try not to rush in to correct them too fast like some overzealous noob....calm and authoritative with just a hint of mild frustration.

That grip is a little different.
As I always say, whatever people like and if it interests them in shooting, fine by me.

Photos tomorrow, I need daylight.

I think I may switch out the ambi safety for a left side one.
The lever on the right side interferes with my grip. I can deal with it, it's not terrible, but still.

I really like this throwback to the early 1990s.

As time goes on, things get manufactured smaller and smaller.
This is full size, and I think a lot of us forget there is a place for full size.
IMO, the balance on this 20in AR15A4 is better than a carbine model.

My M16A4gery is still one of my favorite weapons to shoot. With the ACOG TA31 on top it is pretty easy to shoot.

Now I'm jonesing to get off the island and get home to take her to the range again.

No worries. Mine was free. And the government also gave me a one year vacay with lots of sun and sand too!
