AR-15 Ambi Safeties
I need ambi safeties on my 3 AR's.
Are all Ambi safeties about the same, or are some better than others?

I've been extremely happy with my Radian Weapons Talon Ambi Safety, it's setup for a 45deg throw and is an easy no-tools install for the most part.

I also just bought a Joe Bob Outfitters Ambi for $15 before shipping, and am pretty happy for what I paid, I set it up for a 60deg throw...it is a bit rougher than more expensive Safeties but if you're not sure what to get right now, get the JBO one:

https://www.joeboboutfitters.c...p/jb-ambi-safety.htm

I'd go JBO for entry-level, and it's still a deal because of the included 60deg throw, almost all the ambi safeties that I've seen are just 90deg throw in the entry-level market.

I use Noveske 60deg ambi safeties on all my serious rifles -
https://www.noveske.com/products/short-throw-safety

They sit a tad off the lower which annoys some people, but I don't mind it as they match the ones on my SCARs.

I have been using and been happy with Seeking Precision ambi safeties.

They can be installed in 60° or 90° configuration, reasonable priced, well made and come in a few different colors, now only FDE, black and red.

I have them on everything but my NRA National Match Service Rifle.

I actually like both levers long. So these are the ones I like:

To save $10, I'll probably get this next time:
http://palmettostatearmory.com...safety-selector.html
Or this:
https://www.midwayusa.com/prod...r-ar-15-lr-308-matte

All the "nicer" ones are either outrageously priced, have one of the levers stupidly short, or both.

POF offers a nice ambi safety.

I installed the Timber Creek Ambi Safety on my rifle, I wanted to add some color. They went in smoothly and work as expected. It was around $30 bucks.

I've got the Radian Talon on a couple of guns and I really like it. I also like the LWRC ambi safety quite a bit.

Is the BAD-ASS (Battle Arms Development Ambidextrous Safety Selector) passe now?

I've been using them for several years and been very happy. You can get different lengths and thicknesses of selector levers for both sides and there's a short-throw version.

I like a normal lever on the strong side and a full length thin lever on the weak side.

I just don't see the attraction for $75+ safeties on a rifle.

I was interested in the BAD-ASS but it just has too many options - long, short, thick, think, cranked, no cranked. Plus it's expensive.

The Noveske STS hit the perfect sweet spot of usability and price.

As long as the selector on my primary side is easy and ergo, with the other side usable, I'm good. Most of the time the ambi side of the rifle is only used to confirm the weapon is on safe when it's slung against me, or when moving around, climbing a tree stand ladder, etc.

Just installed two of the Palmetto safeties. Work great, look good and all at a reasonable price.
