What I am looking for is a carbine length 45 long colt.

I want it to be stainless with good black checkered laminate wood and a threaded barrel.

This will be my general all round the property rifle here. I have several suppressors on the way. I am just unable to find what I am looking for. I am not opposed to buying a stock rifle hand having someone work it over to what i want.

the closest thing i can come up with is Big horn armory's 90a which is 4k. Henry's bigboy stainless is a good option, but it is not threaded and the laminate is not checkered.

I'm not sure of anything that will fit that bill.

Try Marlin custom shop. There was a video of custom Marlins from Shot Show 2017 - in the configuration you are looking for.

Second this. There is no better “all Marlin” shop out there.

I emailed Ranger point. They no longer do any gunsmthing. They just make parts.

Hi Aaron,

Thanks for contacting us. We used to offer gunsmith services but now we just manufacture and sell our parts.
Sorry we can't help you with your project.

I did not see stock models in 45 LC, but their custom shop must be able to do it if they are available in other calibers.

Wild West Guns
Brokman's
I think Gary Reeder does some.
Dave Clay (DRC) (still doing them? Dunno)
Ben Forkin used to work on lever guns.
Don't know what Mic McPherson is doing now.

That is a shame. I guess I’m one of the really lucky ones. Their custom parts are excellent and well designed.

I hate to hear that about Ranger Point. One of my “if I hit the lottery” guns was going to be a 10mm built on an 1895 chassis.

Lew Bonitz at Grizzly Custom is the only lever gun guy I've used.

He has serious skills, used to be partners with Ted Yost of custom 1911 fame.

If you're still looking, you might check with a fella named Dennis Olson in Plains, MT.

He's a bit of a cranky old bastard, but once you loosen him up a bit he's a great guy and does great work. He's got a very good reputation around these parts and around the world for that matter.

Something to keep in mind - with the Henry, you'd have to remove the suppressor every time you reload.

Ranger Point Precision worked on JM Marlin SBL chambered in 45-70. For reference, I was using the same ammo, HSM hardcast +P Bear loads, same weather conditions, same range, same distance (50 yards), and same shooting conditions - closed range. I had them do action and accuracy work.

Pre RPP work.
