Sup Guys,
New to this forum. I have done a quick search but It's results did not give me enough feedback.

I will be buying a quad railing system. I've made the decision thru research of not considering the SIG's OEM railing, since the upper's top railing is not attached to the forehand railing, so a strong possibility exists where you can loose your zeroed POI.

That leaves Samsom & Troy ralings and these are the pros & cons that I've gathered so far.

One of the pros that they both have which differs from the SIG's railing is, that they both have a solid top rail from the back of the upper receiver to the gas block. They both attach to the rifle, by using the same screw points of the upper receiver which holds the OEM's top railing but from this point on the attachement points are different. They both also have a con compared to the SIG's railing and that is that they both don't have the lug on the R.Rear side of their systems used to hold the foldable stocks in place when folded.

Troy's rails replaces the front sight's by using a dove tail clamp, which is used to screw the front half of the rail to the gas block. The con on this set up, unless you're using a powered scope and will not need iron sights, is that you would need to buy a rail mounted front sight.

Samsom's rails does not require to remove the oem's front sight but the con on this system is that it uses the bayonet lug holder at the bottom part of the gas block to attach their front end of the rail system, so you will not be able to install a boyonet or possibly use the bayonet lug holder for any accesories.

I've read rumors on other sites were they say that Troy Industries will be adding the folding stock's stud around the begining of the year. I wrote to Troy Industries asking them to confirm this rumor but, their reply was vague by stating that at this time their systems does not have the stud but in the future this option may be available.

I want to hear your personal opinions, specially from owners. Are they solid or move around? material, finish, built.

Thanks in advance,
Max

When I was mounting my Troy rail I was very impressed with how it mounted. Looked like a very smart approach. Other then that I can’t say much I have not even shot the gun I installed in on. I need optics and/or irons for it. Maybe next month.

DP, was that on a pistol (sbr) or rifle? I would like to see a pic if possible.

I went through some of what the OP was going through deciding the same. Ultimately I ended up with the Troy for my rifle. In terms of sights, the kicker for me was the fact that if I went rail mounted for them the market on what I could use went up substantially, where if I didn't want to rail mount the front it seemed somewhat limited. I didn't really care that the Sampson would take the bayo lug, I don't have a bayonet and probably won't. Other than the sight thing, the fact that the Troy wraps around the top of your receiver and matches very well is something that really got me interested. In person the fit and finish is fantastic and the system is solid as a rock. I ended up getting Troy sights and rail covers as well, I was there ordering, so I figured if its all from them it'll work and it does and I think it looks good and works fantastic....

So I don't have the Sampson, and wouldn't knock it (others seem plenty happy with them), I just appreciated some of the features of the Troy more and would say you would likely be more than happy with it.

Seemingly always between a rock and a hard place...

It was one of those RSR FDE rifles and the Troy rail looked good and matched the color really well. I do have a picture.

Can't speak to the Samson, but the Troy is built solid as a tank.
