That is correct, the upper kit comes with the stock adapter and even the 2 stage trigger. They probably sell the adapter kit by itself in case someone wants to take their already owned MCX and put the upper on say an already owned lower. Some might even have a lower that is registered as an SBR or select fire so the adapter kit makes sense if you want an MCX upper on that registered lower.
