For those who're using them on the CTR/MOE and 556, how high a cheek riser should I get for use with iron sights (A2 BUIS) and a low-mounted scope? The options are 1/4", 1/2", 3/4", and I'm only buying one.

Picking option C would mean 1/2", but I thought I'd inquire anyway.

I have the Magpul CTR on my 556. I have a Leupold Mark 4 1.5-5x20 mounted with TPS High (1.185") rings. I do not use any cheek riser, nor would I want one. Everyone's cheek is different, but I can't imagine anyone using more than 1/4" with High rings. With your planned Low mount, I'm not sure you could even get low enough. The best thing to do is mount it up and test fit it. Get some cheap foam from the Hobby store and duct tape and keep trying it until you get the height you want, then measure it and order the right size. This seems like the only correct way to do it.

Good luck..mine was on order for months direct from Magpul....I gave up. I found a used one (1/4")which is OK with my 1.2" LaRue rings, I may try the 1/2" if I can find one....3/4" would very likely be too much for me personally.

Very good suggestion! I was thinking there was an easy answer, but I guess I'll wait 'til I have the actual setup mounted. I generally use steel sights, but do have an extra Hensoldt Fero Z24 (from HK G3) on Stanag Arms mount that would look good and work fine for the usual 100yds.
