Here is another take on that same idea.

Get an Amsec.

Without knowing the brand, here is my basic take on any gun safe:

Get one bigger than you think you need.

Get a fire safe, or don't bother. Fire safes, aside from some fire protection, are more difficult to move and typically harder for amateurs to get into.

Get one that has a listed tool attack rating, and enough active bolts so the hinge can't simply be cut.

No electronics. I'm old fashioned.

Put it somewhere not the garage, and not easily visible through a first floor window.
