1. Here is an article in one of the biggest gun magazines in Germany saying that it's the same company manufacturing both of them: http://www.visier.de/1532a.html. Maybe they're wrong and you're right... 2. THEY ARE CALLED GERMAN SPORT GUNS. THEIR WEB SITE CAN BE FOUND HERE: http://www.germansportguns.de/index.php?id=10100 3. And yes, I am an unfortunate owner of a Mosquito. I haven't sold it because I can't bear myself to to pass it on to someone else. Maybe mine's a lemon, but it truly is a POS. My experience from shooting and playing with a GSG-5 is that it's pretty obvious that GSG took one of their fairly decent airsoft rifles and turned it into a .22. As a .22 version of an airsoft rifle, it's decent, as an MP5-clone, it's a joke. So no, I'm not ranting about guns I've never owned or shot, I'm just giving MY opinions based on MY experience. But like I said earlier, if it's better than the GSG and Mosquito, I might get one. I'm pretty sure where not to get it though... |

I will definitely be looking for a range report on these. It passes the eyeball test with flying colors. My former Mosquito didn't make a very good first impression though, so SIG will need to prove to me that they got it right with this .22LR offering.
If the early reviews are good, the price is about $499, and I can buy one here in NY, I want one. |

Well it looks like it will come with a better stock and sights than the 556 when it was launched. I wonder what mags will work in it, that is usually the key to a good running 22. It would be great if the ceiner/Black Dog AR conversion mags would work, but I won't count on it.

My GSG-5 has been flawless, picked up one of the first ones released and is still going strong. Hopefully this 522 is better than the Mosquito, and actually works.

I really hope they allow it to take black dog mags and that their mags work in the ar15 uppers and conversions. First competition is good and second if any kind of bad political wind blows we can use what we have. Good first impression tiny charging handle aside.

After looking at the other side of the 522 lower, it doesn't look like it will work on a 556.

I may want one of these too, but what is the warranty? If lifetime then I'm in, but I do not want the crummy one year warranty that the Mosquito comes with. Even a 3 year warranty would be enough to get to to get one of these. I want one that is for sure! What a cool suppressor host...

If it took the Black Dog mags, that'd be awesome, but i really bet these are proprietary mags. Note the straight magazine body. The feed tower is also very different than that on the Gen 1 and 2 BDM Ceiner mags.

Same here, except that when you consider that a 556 lower costs more than the whole 522 rifle, the hope is starting to dwindle.... |

The specs are up and it looks like this one is over 7" shorter than the classic.
