Bought this at a pawn shop, just under $600 tax and all.

My initial thought was to swap over the JP low mass bolt and Geisselle 2 stage trigger to a stock DD rifle already in the safe and try to get most of my money back.

Some decent parts on this one actually.
Could upgrade stock and charging handle or just run it as is.

Has a Vooodoo Ultra Lite barrel, heard of them, decent?

Adjustable gas block also.

Anyone recognize the brake?

What would you do with it?
Definitely going to shoot it first.

Yeah, part it out and get your money out of it.

Some quality parts in there, but if you have a DD in the safe, I doubt it would impress you compared to that.

Looks like the JP bolt is pretty pricey, anyone run one?
Was just spot checking some of the parts online, looks like someone was well north of 1k on this build at retail prices.

That thing may just be a real shooter! Between the LW barrel, low mass carrier and adjustable block (oh, and brake!), recoil will be like a BB gun and I bet it will handle real nice.

Just the bolt, trigger, ambi mag release are worth that. Good deal.

Looks like someone tossed together a decent lightweight build.

See how it shoots, go from there.
Ok, you have an AR in the safe, nothing says you can't have TWO!

Run it!!!!
If you don’t like it then swap the parts to other guns. I have a bunch of those Rainier uppers they had a blemish sale on them years back and they were like $50. I could not find a blemish on any that I bought.

I also say keep it. It looks like a nice gun with some good parts. The brake might make it a little loud but even that, I wouldn't complain for the money spent.

If not the Precision Armament, very similar design.

That I would bet a quarter on, not just a nickel. A friend has a Miculek style brake on one of his ARs and I must literally stand behind him when timing his shooting. This one appears to direct the muzzle blast even more to the rear, so it will probably be even worse (and perhaps why the gun was sold in the first place if the previous owner was not familiar with other types of muzzle devices).

Looks good or better to me. I would not be anxious to part it out or dump it. Clean and Lube it and have at it. I am betting it would do as well as AR's costing close to $1k.

If you offer it here guessing you will find a taker at $600

In your 4th photo, the hand guard looks canted. Or is it just the photo?

Good catch, wasn’t quite as bad as pic made it look, but was canted.

Didn’t take 5 minutes to disassemble and straight en it up

Finally got around to shooting it today, at a packed public range, we call it Mogadishu State Forest because it gets a little dicey at times

Got the last table on the right, ran a mag of xm193 through it.
With the brake, it’s like shooting a rim fire almost
Got a little gas to the face with the 5.56 ammo
Tried some Wolf steel cased, it was a single shot
Need to play with the gas settings I guess

After the 1st mag, my son tapped me on the shoulder and pointed down the line
Everyone had stopped and was staring towards us, guess it was a little loud lol
Not too bad shooting it, but to the side it must be brutal

Double taps with the Geissele trigger and brake were like shooting a paintball gun

Think I may upgrade the furniture and leave it alone!

At least passable, based on an Adams Arms carbine in the battery. I believe Voodoo is either a "lower cost" sister company of Adams Arms or another name for Adams Arms.

When I take my JP rifle to the range people try to get as far away as possible because of the break.
