A Nice Rig for Long Distance Shooting
The JP rifle team had that setup at the Team Safari this fall. Had one of their rifles mounted on it as well as a pair of Lieca RF binos on top of the mount. They had it set up after the match for everyone to mess with (JP match sponsor), very solid for a tripod. Still gotta read the wind!

I have a question: how stable/repeatable would shooting be using that stand?

It looks like it's based off a camera tripod and it looks like recoil from one shot and you'd have to start over again in terms of aiming.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Still shoulder/aim the rifle... not free recoil.

A local shooter used a Surveyors tripod by making a thread adaptor for it. Very sturdy and inexpensive.

Lick the lollipop of mediocrity once and you suck forever.
