If we're talking about simple enjoyment of ownership, I love my M1 Garand. The history, design, and the solid feell of the rifle in the hand just do it for me...not to mention...PING! My example is also very accurate...it's the best I've ever shot with iron sights in my life.

If we're talking "you must carry this rifle into actual battle," I'd take the M1A/M14 just for the detachable mags.
