Hey all-

Who has bought or shot a Defiant Tenacity action? The price is really attractive at $885. Less ability to customize but does that matter that much?

I'm curious how they compare to the Deviant as far as longevity and accuracy.

Anyone got one?

"The designer of the gun had clearly not been instructed to beat about the bush. 'Make it evil,' he'd been told. 'Make it totally clear that this gun has a right end and a wrong end. Make it totally clear to anyone standing at the wrong end that things are going badly for them. If that means sticking all sort of spikes and prongs and blackened bits all over it then so be it. This is not a gun for hanging over the fireplace or sticking in the umbrella stand, it is a gun for going out and making people miserable with." -Douglas Adams

“It is just as difficult and dangerous to try to free a people that wants to remain servile as it is to try to enslave a people that wants to remain free."
-Niccolo Machiavelli

The trouble with fighting for human freedom is that one spends most of one's time defending scoundrels. For it is against scoundrels that oppressive laws are first aimed, and oppression must be stopped at the beginning if it is to be stopped at all. -Mencken

I don't think there are many out in the wild yet. I have two Defiance Deviants and a third on the way. It's made on the same machines using the same steel as the Deviant. The Tenacity does not have an integral scope rail and recoil lug. So the stock piece of steel is smaller and it has less machine run time. Quality and tolerances should be the same. Accuracy has a lot to do with who made the barrel and who chambered it.

I spoke to a manufacturer of actions and the cost to increase the stock size to machine an integral lug and scope rail was almost twice the cost.

If you order it from Defiance and don't like it they will refund your money or swap it out for something else. I've owned Surgeons, Bighorns, Impact and Defiance. My "go to" action is a nitrided Defiance Deviant Tactical.
