$249 here in S WI, several of each in stock.

I still don’t need one though, save it for the next guy.

That was an easy search link in the O.P..

Searching with a few Houston-area zip codes, it looks like there a numerous stores in the Houston area and surrounding areas that still have them in stock at $249. Over a dozen.

I tried the search and it showed 1 in stock in Humble. That is like the other side of the world in Houston traffic! Also, it seems for me the links are crossed up. The 20 ga link shows me the 12 ga availability. Thanks for the help.

I just picked one up tonight. The one that I got was the last one that they had in the store. The clerck found it in the back.

I didn't need one, but the price was to good to pass up. It may end up being a Christmas present for one of my kids.

Alls well that ends well but........
Went to one of the local stores that showed a 20 gauge in inventory.
I asked the clerk if the shotgun in the window was a Remington 11-87, she said yes but when I asked how much it was she said she couldn’t tell me as she didn't have a reader, only a register. She was talking very quiet w NO eye contact. She finally ran it and the cost was $249.
I told her I wanted to buy it and her eyes lit up and she now had to call a manager. Took 10 minutes for the manager to show up. They huddled and slowly walked up to me and told me that I couldn’t buy the gun as I was in the store earlier to buy the gun “for someone else”. Which I told them buying for someone else is illegal and nonsense as I haven’t been in that store for more than 6 months.
“I have to call another manager”.
Another 10 minutes later and clerk #1 is now filling out the Online papers for a purchase after I gave her my DL and Permit.
15 minutes later Manager #2 shows up, goes over my electronic papers and takes my money.
All squared away and paid up I got an escort out of the building and was handed the shotgun and an apology for taking so long.
By the time they had to call Manager #2 I was in it for the duration, even if I had to spend the night.
1 hour and 20 minutes to buy a shotgun in my home town and state with a CCW Permit in hand in inexcusable.

The random "straw purchase" accusation is interesting.

But yeah, mine took 2 managers to approve the sale as well. One to retrieve the shotgun from the back, set me up with the online 4473, and review my completed form, and a second manager to double-check my completed form. Both managers had to approve the paperwork before the sale could proceed. Must be Wal-Mart policy. (Their loss prevention manager wandered over just to chat too, so at one point there were 3 managers at the sporting goods desk. Big Grin)

However, mine only took about 20 minutes altogether, and 10+ of that was them rummaging around in the back to find the last 1187.

There are a few in my area but I really don't have a need for the longer barrel but man are they a good deal. Thanks for the heads up.

Now I have to wait for the Henry rifles to go on sale. Wink

Barrels are easy to swap out, just like the 870. You can get an 18.5" 1187 barrel for $125-$160 (or potentially less for a used one). Midway is currently out of stock, but gets new shipments from time to time, and you can sign up for email notifications:

Bead sight: https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1003745217

Rifle sight: https://www.midwayusa.com/prod...003742821?pid=282587

So for around $400 total ($250 shotgun + $150ish barrel), you could have a 1187 with a shorter barrel. That's still less than you'd normally pay for just the 1187 itself.

Then you could keep the 28" barrel to swap in for hunting or clay shooting, or sell it to make your total out of pocket cost under $400.

Thanks for the alert; link showed one of each in stock so off I went to the local Wally World. The drone at the gun counter tells me they don’t have any, motioning at the glass. I sigh and ask if she wouldn’t mind looking in the back. Almost 10 minutes later she comes out with the 12 gauge and tells me there’s it and a 20 gauge. I told her to turn around and go back and get that one too Big Grin

A half hour later the manager is handing me both of them on the sidewalk. A good day!

Thank goodness, the closest one is a 30 minute drive. That’s just far enough to dissuade me from buying something I really don’t need. Probably would’ve succumbed if it were the local store.

I know what you mean. I stopped by a Home Depot store last night for some supplies. There's a WalMart 200 yards away from the Home Depot -- definitely not worth the time to drive over to WalMart to buy a Remington.

I saw this post at 8:30 Mon morning. By 9:00 I was at the store. Waited 10 minutes for the clerk to tell me they sold the last one the other day. Showed me the tags. Some guy bought the last 12 and 20. No biggie, already got a few. I asked why they didn’t up date the inventory on line. The guy says WM doesn’t do the web site for this. The company is separate. Of course. I coulda been drinking coffee in my chair instead of across the county. Oh well. Saved almost $300.00

I went back to see if they had any but they were gone but wound up getting a H&R Pardner Pump for $150.00.

Funny thing is here by me,not sure if all stores are like it now but there is a 3 day wait for any rifle/shotgun,even if you have a ccw permit. The manager said after the recent shooting, the higher ups started this new policy.

May be a local, regional, or state decision. It's not a company-wide policy.

I got my 11-87 immediately after filling out the 4473, showing my CHL, paying, and doing the walk of shame with a manager to the front.

(Funnily enough, I was actually in uniform, and still had to be escorted to the parking lot with my new shotgun. Can't trust the armed police officer with another firearm, after all...)

I tried to buy one.
Seems Wallyworld’s system doesn’t like AZ drivers licenses that don’t expire until you hit 65. No gun sales statewide was what I was told.
Talked to the sporting goods manager the next day and she tells me, “We don’t have any more.” Well your store computer showed 2 in stock last night. “Nope, I’m the manager, I should know.” Roll Eyes

Oh well, last thing I need is another long gun to shoehorn into the safe. Heck of a deal but I guess just not in the cards.

Some stores just dropped the price further, down to $124. Everywhere around here sold out at $249, but there are reportedly stores elsewhere in the country with them still in stock, and discounted even more.

For example:

Will they pay me the 124.00 in cash or will it be a store credit? If they expect me to store their junk, I'd prefer cash.
