I ordered 2 S&W Sport AR's and can't hardly beat the price of $479.99 each shipped to my FFL. I have a buddy that has one and says it can't be beat for the money. Any good/bad comments on them?
I have several Daniel Defense AR's and I'm not expecting the same quality for that price.

You will be surprised at the value you will perceive. They will work just fine.
Just like a Chevy will get you to the same place as a Caddy, the S&W will do the same only not as long.

Thanks for the input.

I've managed to time the black rifle market so my purchases are at the low point and when selling it is at the high point and I can't imagine that these S&W's will get any lower in price.
I am purchasing from an online vendor that I haven't purchased from prior and I did give my go to online vendor a chance to price match and they told me their buy price was more than what I was paying..they have price matched for me before and could not touch it this time.

I don't think you could build one that cheap.

It is my go-to recommendation for guys who want to dip their toe in the AR pool without taking a bath on the roller-coaster market.

I had an older version which had the 5R barrel - which was an advantage - but did not have the forward assist or dust cover - which was a drawback.

The newer versions I have toyed with are all solid rifles too. I think you will be impressed with your purchase/s. Enjoy!

I purchased one just before the election and paid more than you did. It is a very solid rifle and a great rifle at that price point. Thus far, I have had no problems with mine. It seems pretty accurate, but I haven't tested it with a scope yet, and my eyes aren't well suited to open sights. I think that you will thoroughly enjoy the Sport's.

Out of stock. I bought my first Sport years ago.

I have a couple lowers that need built but not sure what I want to do yet. I'm pretty sure I'll put together one for my son in a couple years for his 8th grade graduation gift.

This PSA rifle has a better 4150 barrel (vs 4140), better barrel twist (1/7 vs 1/9) a Magpul stock ($40) and Magpul grip ($20) AND is $20 cheaper than the Sport II that was posted.

Well I got an email from Smoky Mountain Guns & Ammo at 6:40 this morning telling me that my order was cancelled and no other reasons why it was cancelled.
I called Smoky Mountain Guns & Ammo and spoke to someone there in sales when ordering and was told the S&W's were in stock..at least they could have given me a reason for not filling my order.

I've noticed on a few websites that AR prices are creeping up...Ruger AR556s jumped (not crept Eek ) almost $200 from $449 at Bud's...they are still showing the S&W Sport II for middle $500s...

https://www.budsgunshop.com/ca...roduct/4997/redirect

One thing about Bud's is free shipping and they don't charge sales tax unless you live in KY...they leave that between you and you FFL.
