Huh. I was standing next to a WA2000 and an MG34 yesterday. So that's a price tag on a WA2000.

I talked to one of the head guys in Interarms the importer of walther back in late 80s or early 90s about the Walther WA2000. He told me that they had problems with accuracy and reliability so they did not even want to sell any more,,,,, so I lost interest Fast

Yep.The president or ceo? of walther had 3 or 4 of these he squirreled away.Earlier this year he was hinting of maybe "parting" with one or two.But the price was 50k? somewhere abouts.

Although seemingly a failure the wa was really a "out of the box" design from scratch.Intended mkt.being elite european tac teams and an eye also to middle eastern palace guards.

On a walther website the owner had 2 for sale. One was a complete 2 caliber set of 308 and 300wm.POR Eek

that will probably go for around 50, 75, 100k

there are about 40 from what i remember on the imports. the last one in germany went for 50 grand. you can still buy them buy for 50k new from only one guy

Someone once asked me if I was getting a little on the side. I said, "On the side? When did they move it?"

Why do you collect guns? Same reason some people collect snow globes. To kill badguys.

The ultimate approval of any Military Sniper Rifle is Testing and Adoption of an Army or Military Special Operations Group by any major country. The WA2000 was to my understanding was never adopted by Any Army, or Special Opterations Group, any where. If you compare the Accuracy International AW or AWP or SM rifles They have been adopted by over 76 countries including Germany, not because they are cheap as they are quite expensive for a bolt action rifle at 7 to 10 thousand dollars each

I think you're being awfully optimistic. It might get the asking price, or maybe a touch more. Anyone who pays 100k for that rifle didn't do their homework.

The main issue with the WA2000 was the cost of production. It's not a small rifle, but the bullpup design is compact for the barrel length. It's close to the weight of my AE.

Yeah, if I win the lotto, I'm buying a WA 2000.

Arc.

Wikipedia says there are 35 in the US with 11 in the Prez of Walther USA's collection.

Its sweet. I will own one before I die, assuming this room full of monkeys and typewriters deliver the blockbuster movie script the guy who sold them too me promised. Just a matter of time...
