Has any one used one in their Sig 556 rifle or Sig 556 pistol reliably? Thanks.

Not yet, but I was taking my 556P out tomorrow with 90 rounds. If I can remember to dig out a Beta C, I'll run that.

Does anyone know if beta, or anyone else, made a betamag "tower" which bolted onto the 100 round drum for the SIG 551/550 pre ban series of rifles? I want to say I saw it in an ad once - but like many gucci accesories for the 551, i expect low demand has caused it not to be made anymmore..

Enquiring minds want to know!

I've run the beta mags witout a problem on AR's, but not my 556. I managed to get one of the 550 beta mags, and put it away.

Bloody hell.. that's a few magazines! Quick Math for 60 mags (assuming 50% 30 round and 50% 20 round) - with $75 per 30rnd and $85 per 20rnd:

30 rounders: $2250
20 Rounders: $2550

Total: $4800 in SIG551 mags!

(And I felt proud that I nabbed 4 x 20 rounders in Switzerland recently - sheesh). Got 'em for $65 a pop

my sig556 does not like the beta mag. i have tried it a couple different times with the same results; it will fire a couple rounds then it will stop with a round being driven into the mag tower.

Thanks Mr H. Looks like you are the only one that shot one here. Maybe others can input after they tried.

Man all those mags need to be filled....how else can you fight all the Zombies from the Bird Flu shot uprising?

I've never seen that colour paint on the 550. Is that how it came from the factory?

It's an early 551. I've had 3 that color.
