First 2 Rifles in a long time
My rich ass brother in-law is moving to Connecticut and gave me his two AR-10 National Match riles. I was 03 in the Corps a life-time ago, that was last real experience with a rifle. Shotguns and handguns ever since. These things are HEAVY..like 13 pounds. Anyone have experience shooting this model?

The AR10 is a beast without it being NM (heavy barrel and possible weight in the stock) but being able to put 308 rounds on targets is reassuring.

I have a M1A (civilian version of the M14) my advise is shoot the crap outta them.

I remember the Navy Master-at-Arms guys would practice shooting an M14 off the side of the LST.

Very nice of him. Yeah, kinda heavy for lugging through the brush.

They should be fantastic rifles. 308 is a fun round to shoot. For me they would be bench guns. I have much lighter ones for out in the woods. For Home defense, well, the buy expecting 223/556 will be surprised.
