Don't count on it. I had the same thing happen about a year and a half ago on some 556 ammo ~ called 'em about the price in their ad/flyer and they basically told me to go pound sand. I have eliminated them from any purchases ~ permanently ...never again will they get a dime of my money.

Yup...they're dicks ... and there are plenty of better places to get ammo with better service, better prices and honorable intentions ~ certainly not CTD!

Sorry to hear that others got screwed by them.
Years ago I got a flyer that 308 ammo was on
sale. I don't recall price, but called and it
was right. So I send a MO and when it arrived
I got only half order. Called and they said
the price was wrong and the salesman was fired.
They would not take it back. I tried to get
off the mail list, but they keep filling my
garbage can as they arrive.

A while ago they used to be a good place to buy ammo.

Nowdays they are so loaded with low quality accessories ammo deals are secondary, their shipping is expensive and their customer service sucks.

Consider this... What if you placed an ad in the paper to sell your 2007 Ford F150 for $12,500. What if you or the paper made a "Mistake" & listed it for $1,250 instead of $12,500?? Would you honor the ad & sell it for $1,250???

That being said, there may be other reasons that have surfaced causing people to say they are not a good place to buy ammo.

I have no problem with companies not honoring legitimate "Typos" & "Mistakes". Common sense should prevail. Shit happens.

in the hope of a spirited debate.

I don't think that a private seller who places an ad in the newspaper is anything like a store who misprints an ad.

there is another thread on here where someone paid 1.25 (or something like that) for the 100 round backs of WWB. wouldn't you expect them to honor that price to whomever comes.

btw, all i was trying to say was that if yo could buy the ammo for that price, wouldn't you try to do it.

I will still have nothing to do with CTD--I much prefer Natchez; Dan's; or Outdoor Sportsman--dmd

CTD is more than someone that makes an honest mistake. They IMO could be considered bait and switch. To top it off they could care less for me (and you) as a customer. There are toooo many other better sellers and life is too short.

I beg to differ. A mistake is a mistake. I don't think the error has any A.I. and "Knows" the difference between an individual or a retail operation placing an "AD".

I have been VP Sales & Marketing for many many years and I have proof read numerous ad's, literature, price lists, etc. I have made & missed mistakes. Never have we been held accountable for an error or typo. Nor have we held vendors to the same. Never.

As I said in my original comment, "There may be other reasons for not wanting to deal with CTD. So don't. The argument for holding anyone accountable for an "Obvious" error or typo in an ad simply doesn't hold water. Just my $.02.

Wow, I never knew so many people hated CTD. I have never had any problems from them and have been ordering for years. I have never bought ammo though and don't really read the flyers so maybe thats the reason.

I beg to differ.

You've obviously never dealt with CTD, or wouldn't be defending them. They CONSTANTLY will print or advertise low prices only to change them at the time of order.

If you do some detective work you'll see many, many stories of people placing orders, receiving part of it, then calling, only to be told; 'that price isn't good anymore, so we sent it to you at the new price' Or, placing an order the same day you receive the catalog, only to be told; 'that price is no longer good, here's the new price'

CTD's prices are more of a suggestion or guideline or even wishfull thinking. To top it off, their prices aren't even all that great.

A mistake is a mistake, unless there's a long list of 'mistakes' from the same place, over and over again. Then it becomes something else.

I had an interesting experience with some Wolf 45 ammo and a Sig 220 recently. A fellow had bought 500 rounds of wolf to shoot in his 220 Elite (which was a beautiful gun). However, the rounds were slightly longer than normal and we could not stuff more than 2 rounds in a magazine - the nose of the cartridge was jamming on the front of the magazine. Essentially he had 500 rounds he was going to have to shoot single-shot.

If CTD has had a repeated record of not honoring printed prices & not refunding monies for the delivery of something other than advertised, then that's different.

I was defending the right of a Retailor or Manufacturer, or anyone for that matter, to make a mistake & not be "Tarred & Feathered".

I totally agree, 1X..... a "Mistake", maybe 2X. Repeatedly.... a "Practice". F--K them!!!

timQ > What you don't get is that CTD does not have a customer first attitude. They could care less about you, me or anyone else. They constantly mislead by mispricing flyers and will not honor any of the prices and have a terrible attitude about dealing with it. If you want to buy from them them have at it ~ but not one cent from me!

I've ordered from them before. However, the shipping costs negated any savings. I purchased a 50 round box of Hornady TAP in .40, and (after shipping costs) could have easily bought cheaper locally. Also, I ordered a holster from them once (turned out to be junk) that took so long to get here, that I ordered another from a different company. The second holster was here before the CTD holster arrived.
