I just got an email from SGAMMO and decided to give this a try. I have read good things about it being used for range practice. $219.80 a thousand.

I intend to go the the range shortly after I receive it,and will post a report. Here are some
first hand reports I found before I ordered, seems to be accurate and less velocity than 9mm+p, boxer primed, clean good brass for reloading and not a lot of recoil.

Thanks for posting that video. I nearly bought 1000 rounds of that today. I was wondering if it would be subsonic in shorter barrels, and it is.

For target practice with a handgun, I would prefer that over the hotter NATO loads.

I bought a couple boxes when I got a case of Speer Lawman 124 from SGAmmo.

I shot a box of the MEN last week and it is nice ammo but I find it hard to believe it is NATO spec as it is soft shooting. First time I ever got BTF with my Gen2 Glock 19 was with the MEN ammo LOL. Personally I prefer the Speer Lawman 124 for just a little more a case.

BTF? BTDT with my G-19, but it's very uncommon.

OT: What would hot brass to eyebrow dropping and then being trapped inside corrective lenses (aka glasses) then burning face be called? That's only happened once, but it is an easily memorable once.

Back to the ammo, it interested me, but I went with subsonic 147 gr Speer Lawman instead for $5 per 1000 rounds extra. I regret not adding a couple of boxes of this ammo to my order just because I am curious about it.

I don't understand SGAmmo's insertion of "NATO" into their listing. My best guess on the ammo itself is that the German military uses it for training purposes, and Germany is a member of NATO. However, I can't find documentation of it on MEN's website: http://www.men-defencetec.de/e...9-mm-x-19-9-mm-nato/

I don't really need anymore ammo that SGAmmo has for sale, but I guess it wouldn't hurt to buy some (500 rounds?) of this ammo if it gets positive reviews here.

After searching and reading, I have developed a cohesive theory which explains the NATO marketing of this ammo.

This ammo is made to NATO specs which allow variances in projectile weight and pressure. The lack of the NATO cross means that it will not necessarily function in other NATO members' weapons. This ammo might range from being something old that Germany sold to the US market, or it might be from a recent contract overrun.

I would not personally be concerned about buying this ammo, but as previously stated, I chose 147 gr Speer Lawman instead since I know it to be subsonic in my pistols.

I had that happen TWICE a few months back with .45 ammo Eek. I kept shooting until the magazine was empty. It happened because the empty shells bounced off the wall to my right in the booth and then landed in my glasses. I did not think about it until later I noticed the two burn marks right below my right eyebrow. Maybe because of my age, 64, but it took weeks for those burns to heal. Not sure how to handle that next time. By the time I decock the pistol and put it down I am pretty sure the damage will be done. Maybe I need to apply burn cream to the area right away or wear a hat.

I guess that would be BTFBF - brass to face burned flesh Big Grin

Just bought 1000 rounds. Look forward to comparing to my Lawman and American Eagle ammo. 124 grain.

Finally got to the range today to try out the MEN ammo. I shot an HK P2000sk with 50 rounds of the MEN and 50 rounds of Speer Lawman 124 grain.

The MEN was very accurate and on par with the Lawman

Not a single failure with either one and the brass ejected well away from me. The MEN,and the Lawman seemed to have the same perceived recoil.

I don't think you can go wrong with either one for range use.

The P2000sk with the LEM trigger really surprises me every time I shoot it. It is one accurate handgun for such a compact weapon.

This is why I always wear a hat and glasses when shooting Smile

I carried some of this MEN 9mm to the range today. Great ammo. No issues at all. Everything I shot it through was happy. I recommend this ammo and the seller, SGAmmo.

It shoots accurately, the brass is good to go for reloading,it functioned flawlessly and the price is reasonable. Yes I like MEN! (ammo).

I too was wondering about this, along with the Geco that SG is selling. I've been getting 9 & 45 Lawman from them for a while now, and they are the best. I just ordered a 100 round case last Tuesday, and got it Friday; you can't beat that!
