Hey,

I have been looking for the remington .40 cal 155 grain hollw point ammo. I got a few boxes at a gun show a few years ago and have been having trouble finding it every since. If anyone know of a good place let me know.

I found some at Impact guns $28 a box, the only place I found some under $37 a box. I think cheaper than dirt had some other than that this stuff is hard to find.

Hello, Modiecast

I have checked this ammo before and it is only 3 ( 4 if you want to count the cheap 155 grain win ranger) 155 grain loads that hit 1200 -1205 feet per second and 499-500 foot pounds muzzle energy and the federal hi shock is not one of them 1150 feet per second muzzle, 455 foot pounds muzzle energy, also at 50 yards the remington still has 413 foot pounds of energy as to the hi-shock 365 foot pounds @ 50 yards. I am thinking that is why the border patrol likes this ammo, not evan the 155 grain gold dot hits that hard at 50 yards = 389 foot pounds. the remington is good stuff.

Ammoman has Federal 155gr HST for $199 for 500 rds. I also saw the classic Federal JHPs on there for like $179

Yeah, it sounds like he's looking for Remington though. I didn't even know the Border Patrol used Remington. I thought they used the BPLE ammo from Federal. Oh well, learn something new every day. The stuff I posted on earlier is the same as the BPLE ammo in a different box according to Federal.

The Border Patrol used to use the Remington Express 155g w/ extra muzzel flash. I think they moved over to the Fedeal Classic 155g load.

I would not waste your money on the Remington 155g load. TOO MUCH muzzel flash. With rounds such as Federal's HST and Tactical Bonded, Speer's 180GDHP, etc. you can get these rounds cheaper from (ammotogo.com) than buying the Remington Express 155g.

If you want light/fast get the Speer 155g Gold Dot.

Well, I hear they still use the remington express 155 grain, one guy I work has a good friend that is a border patrol officer who tells him this is what they use. I will look at the federal tactical bonded in same weight since Ammotogo.com has a good price on the Tactical bonded. I am not looking for anything over 165 grains, I have the Ranger T 165 grain now. I have gotten a few boxes of remington 155 grain and the gold dot 155grain ammo, I will shoot both to see how they feels and how accurate they are in my P226, I know the Ranger T 165 grains are pretty accurate. I am thinking the remington can't be much worse than the winchester 155 silver tips as far as flash. Thanks for the info Ogive40.
