I went to a Walmart in the suburbs of Chicago and noticed the Remington UMC in 9mm wasnt listed in the prices.

When they did a price check it was $1.50 a box!!
Thats right $1.50 a box!! The manager there said that the ammo must be on clearance.

Needless to say I bought every box they had left for $15 before taxes.

Heres a picture for any unbelievers.

226 9mm and hopefully more incoming!

Will one less box of ammo, this month, kill you?
No, but the money could save a child's life...

I don't have much sympathy for Wal Mart, but stealing is stealing.

I'm certainly not an advocate for stealing by any means, but according to what he wrote in the initial post, "they" makes it sound like a regular counter employee, as well as the manager, both looked into this price oddity and came to the same consensus.

I'm assuming that a major screw up with the price occurred somewhere along the line, probably when they first scanned the new stock into the system....and if by a very slim chance the stuff was on closeout, I can't imagine it would be marked down to a $1.50 - nevertheless, I don't consider the thread originator to be a thief in this circumstance.

As far as my moral compass goes, I might be inclined to give Mr. Zachary Wright a call just to make sure everything was on the up and up as far as my role in the purchase was concerned. I've been charged incorrect lesser amounts before, and pointed it out, and the correction was made - but in this case it looks like even after the fact, the price would have remained the same after checking with at least two people, one being management.

All else aside, there's no return on ammo purchases, so who's to say even if he did call, and it turns out an error was made and verified, the ammo couldn't be taken back.....and the customer would have a legitimate complaint about being asked to make up the difference as he wouldn't have purchased that much ammo initially; they may just tell him to keep it and have a nice day.

I'd want to make sure I did everything to make it right regardless.

I actually told the counter person that the price was too good to be true, so he called the manager.

The manager scanned the boxes and declared that the ammo was on clearance...extreme clearance.

I'll lose no sleep over this.

That's more info than was provided earlier, and I wouldn't lose any sleep over it either. Good for you.
