I did a forum search on this page for "karma money" and got no hits so hopefully this hasn't been covered before.
I'm just wondering how things are handled for karmas that involve either a monetary transaction, or purchasing something for someone else, such as a subscription or membership. I've seen a number of things like NRA sponsorships but have never really been clear on how it works. Does Person A send a check to Person B and hope they put it towards what they say? Does Person B give their (ie, NRA) login credentials to Person A to buy the membership for them and hope they don't have their account messed with or identity stolen? Thanks for any information! -Brew P229 .40 P239 9mm Sig 556 |

Well, in the case of memberships or subscriptions, the organization doesn't care who the money comes from, so you get the pertinent info from the winner (name & address), sign them up, and pay for it.
In the case of the karma I'm running right now, I'll get a name and address from the winner(s) and send them the book directly from Amazon. If you're concerned that the organization/vendor might get confused, most everybody has a "gift" option these days that you could use to differentiate the purchaser from the beneficiary. -Rob Sorry - I lost them all during a camping trip last week. When I sponsored people for the $300 NRA Life Member deal, I had them make the checks out to the NRA and send them to me. Ken L. and I can't remember the other sponsor, had the person make out check or paypal them and then they used their CC to call in the memberships.
If it's any of the regular crowd here, I'd have no problem trusting them with my money. __________________________ "To prohibit a citizen from wearing or carrying a war arm . . . is an unwarranted restriction upon the constitutional right to keep and bear arms.
