Please help.
I have been a member of this site for awhile, but no longer have what the site considers a 'valid email address'.
Without going into personal details, I am renting now, and do not have, and cannot get another earthlink email address (or other provider).
I also cannot received emails at work.
I have a lycos account, but the board will not accept it.
I like this board, and hope to do some more posting here. Is there anything I can do?

You can get an Earthlink email account for $4 a month....

I have one, I have been using Earthlink for almost 12 years now, when I changed ISP's (From Earthlink Dial-up) a few years back, I called and asked how I could continue using my email account and they set it up for $3.95 per month.
You may try giving them a call.

Other than that, find a friend that will let you use thier account to register? No idea otherwise...

that is an interesting idea, I didn't know you could do that.

Of course, I am already registered here, but that's been awhile now. I think it's pretty obvious I'm not a spam account - I've searched more than anything on here, but still really enjoy being able to communicate with the membership.

Personally, I would much rather my money go to this board than a company like that. Hopefully, there is a better solution.

Why don't they just allow yahoo/gmail after we prove that we are valid people.. I had to send it to my work place and now I'm getting tons of notifications there. I really should be getting on my personal account..

I'm not about to pay for a account when I can get my email for free. I've had my account on gmail since it started and I check there religiously.. Any other account gets ignored.

Don't get me wrong - I really like this site. I just got a buddy of mine into SIGs, and I've learned a lot on here.

Maybe it's something they can't change.

I could pay for yet another email account, but honestly, I would rather contribute to this site. To me that does more for everybody involved.

Turn off some of your notifications...

I want to get notified for all my posts.. but it notifies me each time someone post a new message. Some other boards they just send you one until you view the message so you don't get a lot of email..

But that's besides the point. I don't mind getting notified a lot.. just don't like it going to my work account.

I'm not sure how the email works for sure, but I thought only the registration email was restricted. After registered you can change your email to whatever you wish. But maybe the notification will only go to the notification email, I'm not too sure. Its the same for both for me.

Unfortunately it goes through the same setup where it won't allow you to change to a free email service.
