OpSpec Training is returning to Wilmington, Ohio and the Clinton County Farmers and Sportsmen Association. The range is located about half-way between Columbus and Cincinnati. Last year, we hosted a successful Practical Fundamentals class at this range, and we immediately started plans to return. This year, we’re offering our new, three-day Applied Fundamentals class.

If you’re an intermediate shooter, competitor, or law enforcement officer looking to improve your pistol skills at speed, the three-day Applied Fundamentals is the accelerated program for you. The class focuses on mental planning as a method to run your handgun at speed in a variety of conditions.

You’ll be shooting 1,300 to 1,500 rounds during the intensive three-day program. This is not a course for a beginner.

Applied Fundamentals
The goal of Applied Fundaments is to take the building blocks shooters have learned in Practical Fundamentals or other trigger control-based programs and learn to apply those skills methodically to solve shooting problems. Learn more about this program right here.

Instructors*: HR Hawkins

When: July 13-15, 2018, with exact times to be determined.

Class size: Limited to 16 students, with a minimum of seven students.

Tuition: $675, with a $225 deposit

Range Fees: $30

Local Host: Rich Nolde

Ammunition: Round count for this class will be about 1,800 rounds, 600 per day

Important Links and Information

* Instructors listed for specific programs have committed to teach the class on those dates. Although we do not anticipate changes, travel delays, family emergencies or illness may result in instructor substitutions.

Where:
Clinton County Farmers and Sportsmen Association
301 Batson Road
Wilmington, Ohio
[Map]

Where to Stay
There are a variety of reasonably-priced hotel accommodations nearby. Our host will soon provide a suggested hotel. (See second post by RichN below.)

Food at Lunch Break
To ensure you get the most “bang for your buck” we will keep the lunch break to one hour. There are fast food options for the lunch break located less than 15 minutes away. Additional details coming soon.

Evil exists. You can not negotiate with, bribe or placate evil. You're not going to be able to have it sit down with Dr. Phil for an anger management session either.

Hello everyone. I am really looking forward to this one.

We hosted the Practical Fundamentals course here last year and are excited that we can offer an opportunity for everyone who has taken that class to take their training to the next level.

Range fees will be $30.

Here are 5 decent hotels in Wilmington. I'm giving you all of them since none of them are very big and they seem to book up quickly

Yes......Yes.....I'm having trouble packing.

I can't decide if I should take a P226.

Or a SP2022.

Or my new P229.

Or if I should take them all..........

I vote option 4. Take them all! Or at least, take all of the same caliber. That way you don't need to take different ammo. Big Grin

If I shot as well as you do, I would bring my SP2022 or my new P229. But, I need all the help I can get, so I'm bringing my new(er) P320 X-5, and will also bring the P320 FS which I used last year in other classes. Will also bring the P226, but likely won't get it out of the range bag.

Really looking forward to this class, the two classes I took with you last year were outstanding.

I'm guessing Rich will have his P320 as well.

I'm really looking forward to the class. I can't wait to see some old friends and make some new ones.

Unfortunately, they misplaced my order for cool weather, so we are looking at low nineties. Bring plenty of water and Gatorade (we'll also have some available to purchase) and hydrate in advance on Thursday.
