23rd sounds good. my thumb lost some sensation at the fingertips due to my accident, but the wound is healing nicely despite my stubborn unwillingness to go to the hospital to get stitches.

Ray, glad to hear your healing:

1. Too late for stitches.
2. Stitches by their very nature cause damage, not the best solution for finger tips sometimes.

My left hand has two fingers that had stiches, both over a decade old. Both have visible scars, and each scar has the tell tales signs of stitching. Butterfly closures can work wonders, if you can get them to stay.

BTW food processor blades are very sharp.

Same with professional grade spatulas used for cooking pancakes and QuarterPounders, wait for it...

with cheese.

Raven, your welcome. I had gotten three boxes for another member, but he did not need them, so I just instaKarma them offed at the shoot. As always if I am there the DAK is at anyone's disposal.

It is about time to change all the springs, so I might bring the tools and a spring set so I can do a before and after comparison of the trigger. I have heard it said (and I repeat it) that the best trigger job for a DAK is about 500 rounds. I am wondering how much of that is smoothing things out and how much is the main spring compressing a little. Maybe I should put together a TopGunSupply order and get the red paint main spring too. I always wondered how much stiffer it would really make the trigger pull.

I'm going to find out if I have the Arisaka Model 38 working yet. I had to buy a bunch of replacement parts for the bolt assembly (not broken -- just plain missing...lol). I still have a cracked stock, but before I go any further with the restoration, let's see if it shoots. And I had a bit of trouble fnding 6.5x50 mm ammo... Anyway, I'll bring it to the shoot to see what we have.

Midway has that 6.5 Jap but they're $2 each.
I'd knock them apart and load them down a bit.

75 North, exit 320.
GO left, 7 miles, right at stop sign.
300 feet turn right into WMA.
Drive all the way back to the range.

Don't forget your $5!

I may have to pass, or do like last time and shoot and scoot. And this time really scoot, not hang around until the last possible moment and then leave at a high rate of speed explaining to the wife how bad the construction zone near Wade Green is...

Yes, BTW I am back from Yellowstone/Grand Tetons. I will post as soon as I get the hamster in my computer to run a little faster. This HD video processing is really slow, I need to get a quad core...
