We understand ammunition is limited and you may not want to dig deep into your stash for a class. But you still should be training. If the round count listed is outside your budget, contact us. We can adjust your experience during the class so you are not shooting as many rounds, but still get valuable repetitions and training. We will work with you. Contact us to discuss.

OpSpec Training heads to Linden, California offering our flagship Practical Fundamentals class on April 13 & 14, 2021. This class has been very popular with all pistol shooters including law enforcement in the area. The class will be held at the Linden Gun Range, located just outside Stockton and about one hours south of Sacramento.

Along with paying for the class, ensure you register for the course. Learn more about the Practical Fundamentals class right here.

READ THE CLASS TESTIMONIALS

This course teaches the techniques and philosophy of what OpSpec Training believes a shooter needs to improve to their full potential. This is not a beginning handgun course.

Practical Fundamentals (Pistol) may be repeated several times to further one’s understanding of the concepts involved. OpSpec Training instructional staff include a collaboration of custom gunsmiths, competitive shooting, and law enforcement specialists who have created a training environment and curriculum that is ‘process’ oriented rather than ‘goal’ oriented.

The class fee is $470 plus range fees.

Register for the class at the OpSpec Training website.

Shooters with IDPA, USPSA, NRA Action Pistol, 3-Gun, law enforcement and military experience meet the program prerequisites.

Class size: Minimum of 12 students, but the overall enrollment is limited.

Range Fees: $40 per person or less for the two days

* Instructors listed for specific programs have committed to teach the class on those dates. Although we do not anticipate changes, travel delays, family emergencies or illness may result in instructor substitutions.

We are scheduled to be at Bay 4

Where to Stay
Linden Gun Range has a relationship with the Holiday Inn Express located in Stockton near the airport. Call the hotel directly at (209) 946-1234 to make reservations.

Holiday Inn Express

Stockton, California

As with all of our classes, we suggest you book your room early so it is on hold.

Food at Lunch Break
To ensure you get the most “bang for your buck” lunch breaks are one hour. That does not provide enough time for a leisurely lunch, but you can head to a Subway located about 12 minutes away, or you can bring your own lunch. There are many choices for food in Stockton, but that would be a 20 to 25 minute drive one-way.

Evil exists. You can not negotiate with, bribe or placate evil. You're not going to be able to have it sit down with Dr. Phil for an anger management session either.

I would like to add that I took the PF and Advanced Pistol Marksmanship classes last weekend at the Richmond Rod and Gun Club.

Due to the previously recommended dry firing exercise and the bump drill, my ability to fire small, accurate groups was dramatically improved. This appears to be due to the ability to isolate index finger movement from the rest of the fingers. JLJones was so correct, dry firing is the key.

Without dry firing, the noise and recoil will make it very difficult to move your trigger finger without flexing the other fingers, which will pull your shot. At this recent class, Bruce Gray explained that the top shooters will dry fire 500-600 times for each live fire.

Overall I highly recommend taking these classes, as it is virtually impossible to develop these skills on your own. Learn from the experts, which is much better than burning through ammo while developing bad habits.
