When shooting a "neutral" array of targets (i.e. steel plate rack; targets that are level and in a row) do you shoot in the direction of your strong hand (right handed shooter shooting to the right) or do you shoot in the direction of your support hand? I shot both ways and don't realize any difference, just wondering if I'm missing something.

I shoot left to right, generally. Maybe it would be good to mix that up a little more.

Any reason? And you're a righty?

Top shooters will tell you they can shoot both directions equally fast and accurate.

For a long time I would shoot neutral arrays left to right as a right handed and right eye dominate shooter. After a lot of practice, I believe that I can shoot right to left as good if not better.

Either way if it's freestyle. If I'm shooting one-handed I shoot right to left with my right hand and left to right with my left hand.

I shoot the direction that will turn my body toward what I'm supposed to do next, or bring the gun toward my mag carriers if I'm about to reload. As IDPAguy states, if one handed, I start on the side of the hand I'm using and go across my body - that's the way the recoil will take the gun anyway - no reason to fight it...

In my training I make it a point to shoot one direction one time and the opposite the next.

I shoot whichever part of the array will become visible first.

If moving from another array and going to the right, I'll tend to shoot right to left. And if approaching from the other direction then left to right. If starting on a neutral array I favor left to right for some reason. Seems more natural.
