now to some logistic matters:
1. i'm open to places to stay. the room we had last time for $100/night is now $280/night...i guess it really does make a difference when we come during the "season"
2. i liked the earlier suggestion about lunch...someone taking responsibility for getting lunch and dividing the total in the class. i'm sure you locals can come up with something healthier than pizza. i'm sure some of you can give Mayer a hand with this.
3. i loved dinner last time, but many folks thought it was a bit excessive, plus it gets a bit complicated when they don't split the bill. any suggestions? should everyone fend for themselves?

Refresh my memory from last time. IIRC, Mayer and Linda brought lunch the first day, bar-b-q, wasn't it? Then pizza thereafter.

I don't think I want to face the entire day with nothing but a peanut butter sandwich.

How many will we have... 15 or so shooters, 5+ staff?

Hi everyone, we had such a great time last year. A great group of people, a fun class, and we learned a lot....what more could one ask for.

Linda and I would like to supply lunch the first day. Our way of thanking everyone for comming and helping us to host this class.

I think its going to be pretty hot that time of year. The club has a soda machine but its best if everyone brings enough fluid, sunblock, hat etc.

BTW, I've been getting killed at work and haven't had much time for training so please don't laugh....

We wouldn't dare laugh at the guy bringing us our food... Wink

That's really nice of you - thanks!

Very nice is right. Let me know if I can contribute something to the effort.

Also, not sure what people want to do on Thursday but there is a mini-IPSC style match up in Oceanside Thursday night.

Bruce can stay at my house if he wants. We can offer very comfortable, spacious waterfront accommodations, private bath, chef, 5 friendly cats (well, 4 friendly cats and one kind of skiddish!)... about the worst disadvantage is that it is >20 miles from the range.

The neighbors are mostly wealthy recent immigrants in the South American agricultural products import business. Roll Eyes

I could really use everyones help......Any thoughts / consensus / recommendations on where we should get together for the "meet and greet"? Should we meet up in Oceanside?

Any favorite restaurants...I don't know the Oceanside area at all but i bet there are some great places there.

Or we could get together in Coronado, I bet JALLEN could help there. Its a gorgeous area.

Or maybe downtown, Bucca de Bepo. Casual chain italian fair.

Bay Park Fish Co. in Mission Bay. No real view but pretty good prices, not too expensive and good fresh sea food.

Then there's that Mexican restaurant on the coast near Cardiff by the Sea.

Anyway, I'd sure love to get everyones thoughts.

BTW, All of these have menus on line....unfortunately i can't remember the mexican restaurant name.
