Taught by Grand Master IPSC competitor and world-class gunsmith, Mr. Bruce Gray. This intermediate level class will expand upon the skills introduced in the Practical Fundamentals Course. Key elements of the curriculum will review and reinforce fundamental skills and core techniques as well as introduce proven training drills to maximize marksmanship and develop the proficiencies critical for competition shooting.

Location:
Project 2000 Shooting Range
2082 Willow Glen Drive
El Cajon, CA 92019
The shooting club has a website www.p2krange.com

Dates/Time:
The weekend of August 29, 30 and 31.

I would think we would be shooting from 0800 hours until the range closes at 1700 hours on Friday and Saturday. The range opens at 0900 hours on Sunday. We put out a lot of information, especially on the first day, and you’ll need time to digest it.

We’re also hoping to spend time with you, away from the range, over food and drink…hint hint .

Cost: $540

The requirements of this course will be:
Service Pistol 9mm preferred (just from a cost point, .40 or .45 welcome)
• KYDEX holster, no radical cants NO EXCEPTIONS. Bruce does not allow nylon, leather, and shoulder or leg holsters. (This is done for uniformity)
• 800-1200 rounds of factory ammo (No HOLLOW POINT, +P or magnum ammo allowed)
• Plenty of magazines
• Wraparound Eye and hearing protection. Electronic hearing protectors are recommended, but not mandatory.
• Cleaning & maintenance supplies
• Please bring plenty of water
• Bring plenty of sunscreen and a big hat of sorts to protect you from the sun.
• Recommend: Jeans, BDUs or canvas type pants. No sandals or "tank tops" are allowed.

Please contact Mayer Tenenhaus at m.tenenhaus@sbcglobal.net to confirm ASAP. Space is very limited to encourage personalized attention.

That's fantastic, it should be a great class.

If i'm doing my math correctly based on emails sent to me, we now have 6 people who are definites for the class and several others who are possible/likely.

Linda and I will be taking the class
as will Rolf. The other 3 people, i don't have their sigforum handle so i won't post their full names.....

Please try to let me know as soon as possible so we can finalize this. I'll have to submit a non refundable deposit shortly to hold the date which i'm happy to do.

Brian, thanks so very much for posting that link.....that's exactly what we're pushing for...a more advanced curriculum that will build upon and reinforce the fundamentals.

I think its pretty cool that Mr. Bruce Gray lowered the price for participation from last year.

I can't wait for the class. Linda and I had a great time last year, we met a lot of terrific people and I'm hoping we get a lot of new people involved this year as well.

Corey M. and Mike S. were also interested, I should see one or both at tomorrow nights match. (I'll probably also see Mike Z., but now I won't have to nag him).

Thanks for all your work on this Mayer.

Go ahead and figure I'm in. Also I just talked to Rick K. (mentioned in him in an email a few days back) and he's pretty certain he's in.

I'd like to thank each of you for your interest, and for Mayer and Linda for offering to help us put San Diego 2 together! I'm deeply appreciative for the blessings of your friendship.

Mayer has been exceedingly gracious and patient while we've been writing our new course descriptions and outlines. I'm impressed at the response this class has recieved given the limited information Mayer was able to present, and I assure you that we'll get the new outline to him presently now that we're back from testing this course in Ohio.

In the meantime, would you please let us know what we can do to assist you in your pre-course preparations? As this class has a skill and experience prerequisite, I'll work to make sure each of you has what you need to be ready for this intense experience. Thanks!

-Bruce

Mayer -

Looks like Corey M. will also be joining us, that's 5 from Oceanside. Great to see that Mike & Rory have signed up as well, it's practically a Class of 2007 reunion. I'll announce the class at the matches I shoot this month. You have my e-mail and cell, let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

RBGAYNOR, thank you...that is so kind. I'm so impressed by the people i've met here on sigforum. Please do post this information at your range as well. It would be great to get a few more people involved.

Now that we're up to 12 people, perhaps we should start thinking about where to host the "meet and greet".

Would everyone prefer to do what we did last year and have food brought in for lunch or would everyone prefer to take a bit of a break and go out for lunch?

Here's the list so far.

1) Mayer
2) Linda
3) Jif
4) Rick
5) Michael
6) Rolf
7) Michael Z
8) MJTS
9) RBGAYNOR
10) MIvers

I just sent you an e-mail, Mayer, that I'm OK with the dates, so I'm in.

As far as lunch goes, something other than pizza would suit me as I am trying to maintain my trim physique. IIRC, didn't you and Linda spring for lunch, or provide the lunch, one day for the last class? Maybe some of the other locals could take one day and make the arrangements, subject to reimbursement, of course. Let's think about it!
