I read in a previous thread that you were working on getting a class into Paducah this fall. Is that still a go? Havent been able to find anything else on that. All of your courses sound great but they seem to be mostly on the coasts, a little rough for us in flyover land. Paducah is very close to where I live, sounded good.

I would try to make this too...assuming a GGI course.

I know they were going to have last spring at the range that "went out of business"

I'm not sure of the status of that range but I know there are others around the area.

Heck I know plenty of people with open fields that are usable in the area too.

Paducah will happen, as it is the home for GGI on the east coast. (IF it has one???) Problem is that we are in need of a range, as ours went out of business. Paducah shooters supply hasn't historically been really friendly at hosting outside classes, and the only other choice is the KY Regulators outside of Boaz. I am working on it, though. The company insurance will not allow us to shoot in fields, gravel pits, and the like. My personal instructor insurance won't cover it either, and most likely get me cancelled. O

Once the range issue is resolved, look for us to host 2-3 courses per year in Paducah, and hopefully it will include 1911 operator, Skill builder, Pistol/Carbine, and Defensive pistol. We are also toying with adding the necessary components to add the training portion of the KY CCDW permit into Defensive Pistol.

Please bear with us, I hope to have it worked out soon.

we are in the process of constructing a new range for IDPA/IPSC events at my club in Bowling Green. When it's finished, it could be a good spot for a class.

Is it possible to do something at the outdoor range at Golden Pond on Land between the Lakes?

I don't know if they allow classes and such there.

I would be up for it as I have a place to stay really close by.

I don't know of any other ranges in the area.

Bowling Green is about 45 minutes up I65 from the airport, maybe another 10 minutes to get out to the club.

Branson, MO is not close. Just a guess but maybe 6-8 hours west of paducah

Golden pond would be excellent but I've never been to the range...LBL ( http://www.lbl.org/Home.html Land Between the Lakes) is God's own country. Always have plenty of gas when driving thru...and there is NO "liquid refreshments" for a LONG way...30-45 minute minumum...be prepared. Might even stay in the lodge.

...yes BG is closer to n'ville

Keep us posted

Ah yes, Paducah. Last time there got a really good car wash and got to see my MSU Spartans choke another game away in the 4th quarter and lose to Notre Dame. Roll Eyes

Looking forward to another class in that area. Need a pistol / carbine class with my new AR-15 variant arriving soon.... prep the trigger....
