I am soon to receive a new P226ST RTT non-elite model and would like to know if it can compete in IDPA SSP? Or, is it a few ounces too heavy and pushed into ESP?
Thanks. Mike |

If you are lucky you might be able to squeak into ESP but you won't find any ST's light enough for SSP.

Are those the limited runs ones that Top Gun Supply and Mississpigal is selling? I am getting one of those and plan to shoot USPSA Production with it. I wonder if that qualifies. ------------------------------- HK P2000sk (DA/SA) .357/.40 <-- No. 1 Carry rotation HK USPc (LEM) .40 <-- No. 2 Carry rotation Sig P226R RTT 9mm Sig P228 German 9mm Sig P228 German 9mm (with Hogue Extreme Aluminum Grip) Sig P229R Elite Nitron .40 Sig P229ST SRT .357Sig Sig SP2022 9mm CZ 75 P-01 9mm Springfield XD-9 sub compact (CT Laser Grip) 9mm Kel-Tec PF-9 9mm Taurus M85UL SS .38spcl |

That's what I thought -- uugh! < Are those the limited runs ones that Top Gun Supply and Mississpigal is selling? I am getting one of those and plan to shoot USPSA Production with it. I wonder if that qualifies. > Yes -- I believe it is the same. I'm not if it qualifies for USPSA production because I don't know the weight limit. The ST should weigh 42.2oz if that helps. |

You're good to go in USPSA. So long as the pistol weighs no more than 2 ounces over the factory specifications you are good for Production Division. |

Good. I am determined to move up the ranks with a Sig instead of a Glock, XD, CZ etc... ------------------------------- HK P2000sk (DA/SA) .357/.40 <-- No. 1 Carry rotation HK USPc (LEM) .40 <-- No. 2 Carry rotation Sig P226R RTT 9mm Sig P228 German 9mm Sig P228 German 9mm (with Hogue Extreme Aluminum Grip) Sig P229R Elite Nitron .40 Sig P229ST SRT .357Sig Sig SP2022 9mm CZ 75 P-01 9mm Springfield XD-9 sub compact (CT Laser Grip) 9mm Kel-Tec PF-9 9mm Taurus M85UL SS .38spcl |

As long as no one gives you any crap about the milled away part of the slide along the top. The ST is production legal and the Equinox is also on the list, but the ST with Equinox slide is not specifically on the USPSA approved list. Although I hope no one catches it, because I have one of those RTT's as well. And I plan on using it from time to time in production. ______________________________________________________________________________ |

Because I grew up shooting DA/SA and the DA to SA transition does not bother me, nor does the higher bore axis. I also like Sig more than Glocks in General. However, I do plan to get a XDM also to see if I can compete with a striker fired gun as well. In the future, if I really do shoot one better than the other at a higher level, I will stick with one. BTW, would a Hogue Extreme aluminum grip on my 228/226 violate any Production rules? I have been doing some research but haven't been able to find concrete answers. ------------------------------- HK P2000sk (DA/SA) .357/.40 <-- No. 1 Carry rotation HK USPc (LEM) .40 <-- No. 2 Carry rotation Sig P226R RTT 9mm Sig P228 German 9mm Sig P228 German 9mm (with Hogue Extreme Aluminum Grip) Sig P229R Elite Nitron .40 Sig P229ST SRT .357Sig Sig SP2022 9mm CZ 75 P-01 9mm Springfield XD-9 sub compact (CT Laser Grip) 9mm Kel-Tec PF-9 9mm Taurus M85UL SS .38spcl |

I can't think of a reason why they wouldn't be legal. |
