That Paducah class is looking interesting. I do wish that there would be defensive shotgun as well although 4 days might be a bit much...

That sounds interesting. Not sure if it would be interesting enough for 22hr round trip since I have to be back down in Charlotte, NC two weeks later.

Please, please, please add carbine lite to the Orlando class; just some of the basics...gun handling, target acquisition, etc. Not the sprint: lie down: shoot: repeat stuff.

Guns...lots of guns.

Who are the folks at GGI who teach these courses?

sigfreund,
For further clarification, the primary instructors are Bruce Gray and Jerry Jones. The course content determines who is the lead, or in some cases if the course is to be co-led, as well as which adjunct instructors are tasked to work with the lead. Also, Scott Conti is one of GGI's adjunct instructors.

Regards,
Will M.

Cooper is still around. It is just his busy schedule that keeps him from being around more.

Not at all. I apologize on behalf of our friends for inadvertently omitting his name from our adjunct instructor roster, along with Wayne Dobbs and a few others we work with from time to time for that matter.

Indeed, Cooper, Jones and I have been working together towards a 1911 Operators Course for at least a year now. He has access to some excellent facilities in the JAX area to offer, and we will cook up a plan to host some classes with him ASAP.

I had the distinctly pleasant honor of working a class with Wayne Dobbs 2 years ago, the last time we were in Texas. Since then we've been slammed. In my distracted condition, I have been negligent in getting another set of dates arranged with Wayne and aim to rectify my inadvertant lapse presently. He's fantastic. If you can get into a class with Wayne anywhere, do it.

Similarly, now that things have settled down around GGI's famous Secret Volcano Base I want to plan a couple dates to teach with Angi Kelley for the 2010 season. My good buddy Lisa Farrell and I met Angi when we all worked for the NSSF as media education instructors and she's been a great asset and good friend whom I have missed working with lately.

Lisa is another outstanding talent with whom I've shot and worked many times. She will hopefully be on hand to work the line with us at our ambitious San Diego class coming up in October.

As for my friend Sigfreund's inquiry as to who our instructors are, I'm pleased to have an opportunity to brag on them in a general way.

I will say that I'm blessed to be able to count on each of these outstanding talents to support our program while offering the highest quality experience to our students.

GGI isn't the Bruce Gray show, nor should it be. Only an arrogant fool (and I wish never to be counted in that fraternity) would put his ego above the interests of his clients by failing to employ, much less fully recognize and develop, his betters.

So while I am arguably accepted as being OK at teaching what I know best, I am proud to collaborate with, and defer to, each of them. Each stands at the head of his or her respective fields of expertise, and each brings powerful instructional skills to the line.

That's not vapid hype. Ask our students.
