Had a great time up at the Academy. Work sent me up with another cop to take Close Quarters Pistol and Low Light Pistol. Taught by Chris Cavallaro and Steve Gilcreast respectively. Cav taught the P320 armorer course when I was up two years ago and first class with Steve. Both awesome instructors and I’d highly recommend both classses or anything taught by these guys. Took back a lot of drills for my department and picked up a bunch of stuff that I was doing wrong and now ID’d the issue and made me rethink some of my flashlight choices. All in all another great experience. Looking forward to going back for more instructor development type training next year.
Also make sure to check out Federal Cigars in Portsmouth, bar tender Tom is a great guy and they have an awesome selection of cigars and whiskey.

The Sig Academy rocks! The 142 acre campus has great ranges with phenomenal instructors. If you can hit at Sig you can hit anywhere considering their standards are so high. Lots of small targets that challenge you every shot with lots of movement and other drills that train for the worst scenarios that could possibly happen. I also find it relaxing and somewhat romantic too - sort of a love story between a man and his trigger.

Evil exists. You can not negotiate with, bribe or placate evil. You're not going to be able to have it sit down with Dr. Phil for an anger management session either.
