I'm off to a training school early next year and I don't have all the required equipment. I need knee & elbow pads. I also need a flashlight with a rear pressure switch like a SureFire.

Hoping someone may have "best buy for the buck" recommendations. Or at least an on-line place whose prices are righteous.

I believe SureFire G2 Nitrolon flashlights are a good buy. They're rugged and put out a decent light level. I also like the fact that they're available in light colors which makes it easier to find them in the dark.

I have Hatch knee and elbow pads and have always been happy with them, but I'm sure there are many suitable alternatives.

I don't wear elbow pads, but use the cheap Home Depot knee pads, and usually wear just the right one. They don't look very cool, but they get the job done. The surefire flashlight recommended above is also the one I like as well, they are affordable enough that you can get a couple.

As usual SF is correct. We are running Hatch products and I have been happy with them.

From deep in the heart of Texas, thanks very much. If this keeps up, I'll never be able to repay all my SIG Forum I.O.U.s.

If you can find a Brinkman Maxfire LX they are Surefire G2 clones, mine is very durable and has yet to fail while turned on, attached 2" from the muzzle of an AR shooting hot 5.56 rounds. You can find them for $20 bucks online - I bought mine 6 years ago at Sam's Club for the same price.

I ended up getting a $20 Cree Q5 LED drop in bulb (batteryjunction.com) for mine to kick the output up to 130 lumens and boost the battery life well past it's 3-hour Xenon runtime.

This is $40 for a torch that has more output than the G2, in a similar package.

G2 is probably the best bang for the buck Surefire you can buy!

I have knee pads from Hatch and aftr several classes and much range use, they look more or less new. Good kit, IMO.
