~ OpSpec Training - MOAC (Pistol) - Dec. 3-7, 2018 - Okeechobee, Fla. ~
We have dates for our fourth MOAC week. For 2018, we'll be in Okeechobee, Florida from Dec. 3 to Dec. 7. This is actually a very good travel week, as it is a full week after Thanksgiving and well before the Christmas break. Central Florida weather in early December is as you'd expect. Temperatures reaching the mid-70s during the day, and cooler in the evenings (mid-50s). Great for outdoor training.

The class will be limited to a maximum of 20 students, shot all on steel, with an approximate 4,000 round count.

Prior to the start of class, students should have completed OpSpec Training’s Practical Fundamentals class or have attended an equivalent trigger control-based program from another training organization within the past 36 months. If you have the training experience, solid gun-handling skills, and can draw from the holster and reliably hit an 8-inch target from 5 yards in under 1.5 seconds you meet the prerequisites for this advanced program.

We're announcing this class a full year in advance, so you've got plenty of time to prepare, plus we've set up a payment plan schedule.

MOAC
MOAC is a five-day, 40 hour, high round count pistol course designed to take the intermediate shooter and provide them with the tools to become an advanced or expert shooter. OpSpec Training alumni frequently request a long-duration program – building upon our flagship two-day Practical Fundamentals program – designed to enforce and develop persistent, durable skills. MOAC develops these skills through repetition and process oriented marksmanship.

Read everything you need to know about MOAC right here, and the details and information about the class in Florida is posted here and we will update as we have more information. Interested in class testimonials from students? We also have them posted here, and many students will share their experiences with you if you ask. They will not share details about drills with you, but they will provide you with general info.

Instructors*: Jerry Jones and others. Most likely there will be at least four OpSpec staff members on-site for the week.

When: Dec. 3-7, 2018, eight hours each day. Exact times TBD.

Where:
The range will be in the Okeechobee area.

Class size: Limited to 20 students.

Tuition: $995
A deposit of $245 holds your spot, with additional payments due on a specified schedule.

This payment scheduled is different than our normal classes. This class is in high demand, and we want to provide everyone the ability to sign up early so they can make travel arrangements as needed.

Range Fees: Range fees are currently being negotiated and are expected to be between $50 and $100 per student (for the week) and are not included in the class tuition.

Local Host: Emmett Jarvis from Elite Firearms Training. Emmett has taken MOAC twice, and is bringing the class to his home area.

Ammunition: Round count for MOAC will be approximately 4,000 rounds
Enrolled students will be able to ship or drop ship ammunition and gear to the training location.
We strongly suggest shooting a compact (think P229) to full-sized (think P226), 9mm pistol during this class.

Important Links and Information

Along with reviewing our What to Bring page, note you'll also need at least six magazines, four magazine carriers and 50 dummy rounds. We suggest the Saf-T-Trainers from Brownells. Understand some of the dummy rounds will break during training.

Where to Stay
We’re suggesting either the Hampton Inn Okeechobee – Lake Okeechobee or the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Lake Okeechobee. As with all of our classes, we suggest you book your room early so it is on hold. Although hotels will ask for a credit card to book your room, both the Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn Express & Suites have a reasonable cancelation policy if necessary.

* Instructors listed for specific programs have committed to teach the class on those dates. Although we do not anticipate changes, travel delays, family emergencies or illness may result in instructor substitutions.

Evil exists. You can not negotiate with, bribe or placate evil. You're not going to be able to have it sit down with Dr. Phil for an anger management session either.

All,

I just wanted to drop a note to the guys signed up for this course with a status update.

MOAC was a concept I dreamed up eight years ago. It rattled around in my head for two years, before I got brave enough to try it. High round count, high repetition, pushing speed and skill. 4000 round in five days worth. The first year, and every year after, the course has filled up quickly. There are one or two slots open for this years event, I believe. Many students are repeat MOAC survivors. A couple of guys have been to all six classes. And like a proud father, I am so proud that my baby has grown into a mature source of speed and accuracy that there are few rivals out there in the firearms community.

It is for those guys, who have seen the beast, that I post this update for. The guys that sometimes wake up in the middle of the night hearing "AGAIN FASTER".

The goal of MOAC is to turn out a fast, efficient, and accurate durable skill. That goal isn't going to change. How we get to the succeeding at the goal is going to look a little different this year. Expect to work harder than what you have in past MOACs and expect that that work will be rewarded with better trigger control, better speed and accuracy that even what you have achieved in years gone by. The guys who just finished MOAC Rifle got a healthy dose of exactly what I am talking about. They graduated out this afternoon with a more durable, persistent skill than previously could be expected from the traditional training method. I'm hoping that one or two of them may stop by here to comment on their experience this weekend in Kentucky. I had hopes of the type of results that Rifle MOAC would bring on the students, and I left tired after four days of teaching but really happy at the surpassing of goals that I saw.

So, what does that all mean??? Stop watching reruns of The Office, and hit the dry fire work that you know you should be doing. Come prepared to work hard and enjoy. Just be prepared for the class to look a little different this year.

I've taken my fair share of OpSpec classes over the last 9 years. It was the 3rd or 4th Practical Fundamentals before I just accepted it. That class was the biggest single leap forward in my skill until MOAC-R.

We had a good group, agreeable weather, and an instructor who's never been afraid to throw the book away and try new stuff.

We worked hard. I got quite a bit better. The strange but good thing is this is the most relaxed I've ever been taking a class.

My prediction is a bunch of tired happy shooters in December.
