My church, Metropolitan Church of God (Hoover / Birmingham, AL) is hosting its second annual "Hitting the Mark" range event on Saturday 24 October. It will be held on private property near Columbiana (Shelby County), AL from 12 Noon until dusk, weather permitting.

While there are no parking or entry fees, participants are asked to bring:

* Ear protection
* Eye protection
* Ammo

As to the latter, firearms will be available to shoot in 9mm Para, .45 ACP, .223 Remington, FN 5.7x28 (all brass-cased, please), .22LR, and 12-ga. (skeet loads). Bring the ammo in the chamberings you want to shoot and, of course, bring your own firearms as desired!

I would love to come out! Unfortunately I am closing on a house on Friday, and moving Sat. morning, and I have to go to work @ 1430 Sat. afternoon.

Hey, Smitty, sorry for you to miss it, but many congrats on the new home!

As an aside, do you ever work traffic control over at Pizitz Middle in the afternoons? Thought I might have seen you over there, based on pics from the B'ham shoots. My wife and I divvy-up our carpool routines, but I'm usually through there at least two afternoons a week and virtually every morning.

Nope, that wouldn't be me.

I have to be in a pinch for money to work traffic..
