If you think gun magazines are objective or honest, when's the last time they wrote a truly negative review of a firearm? Do you really think all of those pre-production models they're shooting run as reliably and shoot as accurately as they say they do?

90% of gun malfunctions can be attributed to poor ammo (reloads, Russian, etc.), lack of maintenance, weak springs, cheap magazines, or improper technique. When a well-trained shooter using a wide variety of high quality ammunition fed from a reliable, self-leveling magazine shoots your gun after it's gone through a through inspection, spring replacement, and cleaning, and still has problems, then it's the gun. Until then, the problem is YOU.

There are ALOT of disgusted S&W revolver guys out there, who won't own a currently produced S&W.

Two piece barrels, internal locks, shoddy construction, MIM parts, flames engraved on cylinders Wink. These currently produced Safety Wessons pale in comparison to the S&W revolvers of the past, or even from the 1980's and 90's.

If Sig would produce a TRADITIONAL revolver, say a 3" 357 in a mid frame size, I think they would have a hit on their hands. I would buy one. Regards 18DAI.

Model 19 Combat Magnum, everything you need in a revolver, and nothing you don't.

Ah yes - that revolver - the one that put a 45LC through your right leg?

I have a Colt Python and cherish as a relic. It is a beautifull work of art and damn deadly too.
Now, why would I want a SIG revolver? Roll Eyes

Yep, that's the one.

I would hope the new ones would have better reliability after 50 years of wear and tear.

Sure, they could make it, but...WHY????

I would not buy a SIG Sauer revolver just because it's SIG Sauer. I imagine just carrying that brand name would entitle it to a juicy price point, and that concerns me. They'd have to impress upon me that they'd made a significant improvement over the Great Straight American Wheelgun Juggernaut, Smith & Wesson, for me to even consider it.

That was a useful addition to this thread. Roll Eyes

Back to the topic, no I would not buy, a revolver, semi-auto pistol, rifle, shotgun, full automatic crew served weapon, sporks, laser printers (in the bazzilion gigawatt range), etc. just because it is brand X. Or Sig in this case. My old S&W Model 64-3 4" .38 Special used, abused, trade-in works just fine, and I have no use for another revolver just yet. And I can not see getting a SIG branded one just because.

Shame Buster. You need to come to Cherokee Gun Club this coming Saturday to see the Cowboy Action Shoot. You just might get hooked!
