12131,

Thanks for doing another very generous karma, and good luck to all.

I retired from the USAF after 20 years (and I still work for the DoD as a civilian going on 12 years now...) My Dad, Mom, and sister all served in the Air Force, though none stayed past 8 years. My brother served 2 years in the Army. My Great Uncle George also served in the Army in WWII. My father-in-law served in the Navy during WWII.

Thanks for this chance!

Regards From Sunny Tucson,

I was not able to serve due to my eyesight but my brother was in the Navy and served on destroyers. If that qualifies, count me in.

This is awesome, thank you. I'll rely on my son for this one. He's in the Air Force, stationed in Kansas but has served in Alaska, Hawaii and Qatar. He's currently a jet mechanic but has applied to the Pararescue training program. Very proud of him.

Served as part of the PA Army National Guard with Blackjack Troop, 1/104 Cavalry. Best part of my service as after my security mission to Kuwait, they trained my unit on the M3A2 ODS/SA Cavalry Fighting Vehicle. Two year training that culminated with a two week live fire qualification course. There’s nothing cooler than getting to shoot a 25mm chain gun from a stabilized platform.

I would like to be considered for this awesome karma. I was in the Navy from 89-94. In fact every member of my family has served. Both of my Grandfathers served in World War II. My father did 26 years in the Air Force including a stint in Vietnam and my brother was Army. Thanks for this wonderful opportunity.

Please count me in, I'm coming up on 16 years of active service in the Army. I come from a long line of military service and plan on serving for at least another 7 or 8 years more.

Thanks so much for the chance at your generous karma and good luck to all.

As always, your generosity is very humbling. Though I am retired Air Force, I ask you to consider my younger brother, Mike, for your Karma.

He has served 37 years in the Army National Guard, currently an E-8 assigned to the 1485th Transportation Squadron based in Dover, Ohio. While many consider the Guard to be light duty, he has pulled four combat tours in the Middle East. His first was during the original Gulf War; he was part of the operation to move the Army to the east during the aerial bombardment phase of the war. He was in Kuwait City when it was liberated. He was very nearly killed during his second tour in 2004 when his truck was targeted with an RPG, but the round only creased the back side of the fuel tank and instead impacted on the frame of the truck. As he was riding shotgun in what was their commo truck, he was thrown against the side of the cab and knocked unconscious. He was subsequently awarded a Purple Heart for his injuries. His third tour had him assisting a trans unit that had not deployed to combat yet. That unit's First Sergeant couldn't handle it and was sent back to the States, and my brother assumed his duties. His fourth tour found him assigned the First Sergeant duties of yet another trans unit. Early in their tour, the girlfriend of one of the soldiers dumped that man for another soldier. The man she left was inconsolable and killed himself with his rifle. My brother had to clean up the remains, pull the unit together, and get them through the rest of their tour.

Nothing I did in my years of service could possibly measure up to what he has endured. I truly believe he is worthy of your consideration.
