My latest one is awesome accurate.

It's not just for SHTF - it IS the S!

LOL...that is my feeling 100% as well. I really prefer to carry a CCW in .357Sig and yet I find myself carry my P228 quite a bit. What can I say...the 228 just feels right in my hand.

It's the best shooter I have. And it doesn't even fit my hand very well. (Iv'e been known to inadvertently drop the magazine). But it's a hell of a shooter. There's something about the way the trigger breaks.

I wouldn't change a thing (except get another one).

I just bought a 228 from a member here on the forum. I should have it in the next couple days. Can't wait to get to get it in my hands.

I sold mine. Hated it. Never liked the way it felt. Like my Dan's ammo P6 way better. Even if it IS still a 9mm.

Bought my 228 in 1994. Been through many women since then, but still have the same 228.

I'll let you try out my woman, before you try out my 228. Wink

Here's her pic...

JKD,

Had the work done by CCR last year. Cera-hide finish - House Black for the slide and controls; BTM on the frame.

Brad does a great job. It it took longer than I wanted it to, but if I have a choice between getting it quick and wrong vs. a little more time but's it's doen right, I'll take the latter.

Tell me again why this gun is so awesome?

Then get one. You can still find them. You won't regret it.

Yes I agree with most people here, the Sig P228 feels so perfect, totally no grip adjusting at all. That makes it a natural pointer for me.

The 228 is a great gun. Honestly, with the limited number of brand new, lifetime warrantied, no-rail 228's available from http://www.topgunsupply.com/si...s-da-sa-no-rail.html and maybe others as well, that's really the only 228 I'd consider right now unless any used specimen is one heck of a good deal and I'm talking several hundred less than I could get this new one for. Treat yourself. I don't think you'd ever regret going with this brand new one.

Sick of seeing pictures in this thread of the hag. I figured I'd spruce it up with a little true love. Factory Nickel 228 baby. Cool

Here is mine, a DAO two-tone I gave $400.00 for with three mags, slightly dim night sights. I like it a good bit....but I like most handguns a good bit.

The Swiss 228's came with dead night sites, but they can be renewed by Trijicon for ~$55.00.

If you get one with scruffy old Hogue grips, they can be replaced with new factory grips for under $20. Another $15 or so will get you new hex-head grip screws to replace the old, buggered up, maybe rusty factory grip screws. A new recoil spring to update the 10-15 year old original costs less than $10.

The total comes in well below the cost of a new 228.

A piece of skater tape on the front strap is a nice low-cost addition, too: makes a 228 fit into my hand very nicely.

Would you mind me asking if you can send Trijicon the slide with the sights on it, or do they need to be removed? My Swiss has decent sights in the dark, but not low light conditions. Maybe new inserts are in order?

Call Trijicon and get an RMA and send the slide.

They will relamp and send it back.

This maintains your sights on the gun and the POA/POI stays the same.

I have one of the Swiss 228's
Did they all have trijicon nite sites?

I would definitely spend $55 to get them re-done.

I have 2 P228's and 2 P228R's and will soon have a new P228 with the sas frame.
I had zero 228's a year ago.

Can you tell I really like them!?

I'd rather have a P229R in .357SIG! Razz
