Let's talk about features. If you were to take a couple of days and build a P-Series pistol by hand, what features would you include? All steel parts? Barsto Barrels? What would you include in your final product?

Let's keep it within the scope of currently available features. No design changes beyond parts mix and match.

I'd build a 226 real close to Legion specs with steel internals, Trijicon HD XRs, and a Barsto gunsmith fit barrel. I might consider even building a short extractor slide to set it apart from the Legion. Of course, it would have the OpSpec logo on the slide.

You?

Easy for me, and already broached by Sig: All steel 225. The other was already done, too: all steel 220 compact. Guess my imagination isn't so imaginative.

P226 .357SIG

Stainless frame, Hogue straight rubber grips.

As soon as Grayguns gets the "Trigger in a Box" back in it will have the
following Grayguns parts.
Sear, Hammer, Safety lever.
It already has the SPIT trigger, Short extractor, Fat guiderod,
P228 decocking assembly, Rubber grips, Gold Dot 54234 - do not know what sights to use.

A 229 combat in 10mm would just be the cats ass. I'd even do a 226 version of that as well

Mine would be a P226 Legion in 9mm in both steel and alloy frames with the short extractor.

This thread gave me a thought. Does a 220 10mm conversion require a steel frame?

I'd like an E2 P226 in 357 with a beavertail, short trigger. and a comp maybe. so give me a legion with a comp and regular coating, don't like the pvd.

Nothing special. Just an all stainless P228, with either the long internal extractor, or short external extractor. Cool

I'd start with a P226 frame. Maybe the Legion for the undercut trigger guard, but I'd get the beaver tail removed. Or just get a regular P226 frame undercut. Then shortened to fit a P229 slide. Small slide catch/release lever like the Legion (I think the P224 had one too). Nice fat Hogue finger groove grips. For the trigger, I don't know. I guess the Legion trigger, though the one I played with actually seemed heavier than my well-worn '94 P229. For sights, I always just stick with standard night sights, but if I'm designing a semi-custom, maybe I'd try one of those high-visibility front sights.

So I guess something like a Legion P226 Carry.

P226 with the older, non E2, grips. Steel insert rails like the P224/P229 Carry, but more robust. Standard 1913 rail. Slide lock/release moved forward or configured like the newer P320 version. Forward serrations on the slide (half cut, forward of the ejection port.) Chrome lined barrel.

229 Legion frame and internals, but with a standard 1913 rail and nitron finish.
Short external extractor slide.
Regular size extended slide catch lever (like the X5 AR).
Trijicon HD XR sights (U-notch).
Match grade barrel.

A rail-less P226 Legion (SAO) anodized black, standard slide release, short extractor slide with Novak's, possibly a fitted Bar-Sto barrel.

Easy for me, Legion specs sans the crappy PVD finish. Put the Nitron finish on the Legion and you have a much better setup IMO.
