I came across what I think is a nickle p229 GOTM, but it is missing its original box. I called Sig and asked them if they could run the serial number to give me more information on the gun but I was told that their records only go back to 2006.

Can some one with the nickel p229 GOTM give me an idea what serial number range their gun is in?

Not sure of the SN range, but:

Probably an AL SN?
