I do like that grip frame on the 320 target.
I agree though, they need to stop making 320's that aren't interchangeable with other 320's.
Personally I like the 320 regardless of the modular aspect, but that is the main selling point from SIG so they need to not muck that up.
Did you say there was a Stainless finish 225-A there? Any chance of a pic?

Any word on availability timelines?
ETA: I am ashamed to admit, I initially forgot to thank you, because your post got me so excited!
Thank you for the write up and the news. I always look forward to your thread this time of year.
Death smiles at us all. Be sure you smile back.
Are they planning on shipping the 210 carry with a heavy frame, or will it be slimmed down?
LDD- Thanks for the write up and being the SF members' eyes and ears at SHOT.
If you're around the Sphinx booth, can you ask them about the availability of replacement sights (tritium or not) for those of us that own SDP Subcombat Alphas? Many of us have pistols that print LOW and our attempts to get the problem remedied are being ignored. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I am also interested in this, is this one the one they will submit for the trials?

LDD As everyone has stated thank you for the write up. It has the most information so far of the websites I look at, on things I am interested in. As for the P320RX, do you know if that is going to be available in both the full and compact? Also will the be making one with the safety as well? I again appreciate all that you write up.

Pic request please. IWI Tavor X95. Thank you.
I will try to answer the questions that I won't get to in the next post. If you don't see your question answered here it's either because I don't have the answer (and will probably try to track it down, time dependent) or I am answering it in tonight's post.
X95--pics and first impressions coming tonight.
MDR--pics and first impressions coming tonight.
320 w/ manual safety release date & compact/fullsize (need to ask, will be back at SIG today)
210 Carry--nothing set in stone, SIG didn't even display one so today's answer might not be tomorrow's truth.
Sphinx sights--need to ask, maybe tomorrow
On additional models being offered in RX, depends on sales. Like Glock, the better a particular model sells the more likely we are to see an RX version of it.
I know your time is vary valuable, and your write-ups are so full of information that I feel almost afraid to ask:
Does SIG fully understand the inherent disappointment with the MPX and now what seems to be coming from the 320 line fro the public and LEO sector?
We are not bashers, and the exact opposite of trolls. Most of us, including me all in, are huge SIG fans. First pistol I shot (which was in combat). I am a huge fan of the 320, and have so many variations, I keep an entire pelican case full of just pistol combinations. I use them.
I want the new target and I want it to fit the other configurations. We all jumped in with the idea we could constantly change around calibers and sizes - no one told us there would be a separate 45. The 45 was a disappointment when a new FCU was needed, but I still bought it, as its my most carried pistol. Now the target pistol is going to be a whole new gun? What happens when we want a MRDS slide to put on one of the pistols - it wont fit any other?
Same with the MPX - which, yes, you are probably the most knowledgeable of anyone writing articles or in pure knowledge outside of SIG (and maybe inside SIG).
If they made a mistake, and just can't do it, let us, the consumer, know. If they can give us something positive to look forward to -tell us.
We will buy the new target 320/330- maybe that's why they are doing this - they will get a whole new round of pistol sales. That may be ok to them, but enough of keeping us on the dark. Do they understand their buyers frustrations?

Thanks for the review.
If you want to see some beautiful shotguns, stop by the Perazzi booth. Mauro Perazzi should be there from Italy.
This is actually a good point for me to say a couple things.
1) I do intend to bring up the non-P320ness of the new "320 Target" to Ron Cohen and Tom Taylor (Chief Marketing Officer & Executive Vice President, Commercial Sales) when I interview them this afternoon.
I only have fifteen minutes for all three of us, but it is definitely on my list. It's #1 from my side. But there is also always a delicate dance of firmness and diplomacy--I see bringing this issue up as helping SIG. Hopefully I will be able to make the point.
2) In general, I've not been very pleased with my own progress here. Frankly, it feels like I'm walking in molasses. Freed from other professional limitations, I now find myself choosing between priorities (deep or wide coverage), and choice I've made feels like a necessary evil.
I have pretty much conceded the field in terms of breaking photos of a new product. Someone with a cell phone and an instagram account is going to scoop the hell out of me every time with his "[photo] Check it out, American P210, awesome! #newhotness." I can't turn out a story that won't embarrass me in the 5 seconds it takes to take and post a photo to the web.
If that is the extent of your journalistic instinct and ethic, you're going to go very far, but not very deep.
If I just walked around SHOT with a cell phone and instagram account, I could probably finish the show in two days. But I'd also be unsatisfied--seems there are 101 outfits doing that these days.
It takes time to dive deep into a product and get to know it in every way short of shooting it. For instance the P320 Target non- compatibility. Also, the American P210 uses a standard SIG lockup, not Browning-Pederson system (I asked). That's not instagramable info.
But it's also frustrating because the total breadth of coverage feels lacking. Granted, right now I am in the middle of the action and perhaps don't have a good perspective, but I feel like I'm becoming a specialist in specific categories, which was never my vision.

Excellent LDD, thanks for all of the hard work you are doing! Couple of questions if you have a moment.
Any news/updates on MPX in other calibers? I held off on the V.1, because it was only 9mm and at the time not capable of changing to .357 SIG or 40 S&W.
Do you wear a pedometer or fitbit to track all the movement you do? Seems like good shoes/boots and custom inserts are a must.
I really appreciate your attention to detail and efforts to get us the most up to date info and great pictures. If you're ever in my neck of the woods, I'd like to buy you a beer!
Welcome to Idaho, now take a wolf and go home!
Thanks for the writeup, LDD.
I am curious, are there any pictures of the Glock 36 with a rail? I haven't been able to find any more information about that, online.
Thanks, LDD. I appreciate your work on this.
I too am curious about the P320 w/external safety. That will be my next pistol purchase, no question.

LDD, fear not, you do an awesome job! I appreciate having your first impressions more than any other coverage.
LDD deep gratitude for your reporting.
And thank you in advance for geetting clarification on the p320 match.

Did you happen to see any new Revolvers at Ruger?
I'm REALLY waiting for them to expand the LCRx line.

Is the P320 Long Slide different than the P320 Target? (which is in project phase now) If so, is it more closely related to the full size size P320? Thx
LDD, I'd like to echo everyone's thanks - your write-ups are a pleasure to read.
Two questions, if I may:
1. Have you heard any whispers around the Sig booth regarding the future of the Legion line? Specifically, I'm curious about whether they'll be released with threaded barrels, or in packages similar to the "TacPac."
2. Do you know when we can expect to see Sig pistol cans in stock?
