Yes, the Colt high polished (bright stainless) s/s in .38 super, just have a 9mm barrel fitted for it, best of both worlds. just go on gunbroker and google it to see pics.

Wow. They even have special "BBQ" series pistol, which features a cross fork and spatula insignia. That's pretty rich!

Is there anything they can't do?

Colt El series fits your bill....many of them (if not all) were produced in Super 38. But good luck finding one NIB locally these days. As was mentioned...maybe gunbroker or the like may have one posted.....or pawn shops.

Personally, I have a Les Baer Govt in Hard Chrome with the 1.5" guarantee. But it's not the glossy stainless finish that is on the COLT.

Dan Wesson 50th Anniversary model

The DW 50th Anniversary Limited Edition “is an all-stainless gun finished in a high polish nitride to resemble a high quality blue.” But it should be significantly more durable. Cool. It’s also engraved on the frame and slide and sports a set of ivory-look G10 grips with DW logo medallions. The grip safety has an gold inlaid “DW” and the recoil spring plug a “50th.” A brass bead front sight rounds it out. MSRP is $2,999.

Cas has the idea, but remember, a classy "show me the money " gun in a cheap ole holster will send the wrong message.

I would consider an embossed leather with a silver concho on it maybe in the shape of a rau

My suggestion would be a Dan Wesson A2 as it retains most of the cues from the A1 with a mini beaver tail and Novak style Sights. If you talk to Keith at DW he will make you one in 9mm. Then just send it off to CCR for some ceraplate.

I also agree with this. A nice leather holster either OWB or IWB with a nice material is kind of a must. I've not stepped up to this level yet, but our forum member Ryan Grizzle does some fine work that would be most fitting on a BBQ gun.

You guys do realize there was a 12 month gap in the thread right? Big Grin

Years ago, in a certain movie, I saw a nickel/chrome frame, with a dull blue or parkerized slide. For some reason that odd contrast has always appealed to me and I've long wanted to make one like that. Last year I was going to buy a Baer BOSS, blued slide and hard chrome frame. At the last minute I changed my mind and got the cheaper Concept III. Same look, but a stainless frame. The plan being, eventually I will polish the frame to a high shine. Cool

Already have my BBQ holster.

How, exactly, do you guys dig up nearly year old threads?

Are you using the search feature to find things to comment on?

I find it unlikely you manually page back far enough, but I've seen these "resurrections" occur, and I'm still not sure how people dig these up.

Arc.

The thread did start a while ago. If they ordered their SVI, they would have it by now. Fancy that.

Black guns just don't really stand out. Unless it was like that TALO gold cup colt they did a few years back with a REALLY shiny blueing on it.

My Ed Brown 5" Kobra really stands out and comes across as a really nice gun visually with it's snakeskin treatment. It also is my favorite shooting 1911 .45.
