Will a normal 229 Slide work on a 229 Legion. I have an opportunity to purchase a 40cal Legion and I have an extra 9mm slide assembly to put on it. I know it’s sacrilege, but will it work? I can always put Xrays on it if I start feeling more tactical!

It works!

Any P229 slide will work on any P229 frame. Any P226 slide will work on any P226 frame.

P220 is caliber specific and switching calibers probably will need a change of the locking block in the frame. For instance, My P220 SME 45ACP slide will NOT work on my P220 Elite 10mm frame without changing locking blocks.

But my P220 SAO Carry slide will go onto the P220 SME frame just fine because it's all 45ACP.
