Does anyone know of a range in No. VA or MD that rents a USP 9mm? I would like to try one since I have thought of it as possible purchase. Thanks.

I would try Blue Ridge Arsenal. I think they are your best bet. Maybe SharpShooters in Lorton.

Elite shooting in manassas has a p30, but no USP

Wish I'd seen this a month ago. I just sold my last USP. I would have gladly met you at Elite and let you shoot mine

Good luck!

I just came from a session at SharpShooters; lots of rentals and they have a few H&Ks for sale. They may have the USP to rent; you could give them a call or e-mail.

Thanks for the suggestions. I checked Sharpshooters, BRA, & Elite Shooting but if they have the USP it is in 40 S&W. Something about the 9 that they do not keep in stock for rental.

That sucks. Just a guess, but maybe they picked up .40S&W pistols cheap with the recent flood to the used market. It would make sense to use them for rentals.

I own a USP 45 and I've shot a USP 9. There isn't a lot of difference. The USP's dual recoil spring does a good job of soaking up the recoil. Just shoot the 40 with some 180 grain fmj. It will give you a good intro to the fire control system.

Thanks Billy346. How does the USP 9 compare to the 226 for recoil, if you ever shot a 226? I have a 226 MK25 and the recoil is very mild even with my tedernitis. The 226 is a bit heavy for CCW at 34 oz. empty. My P30L at 27 oz. is more comfortable for CCW.

Tried Elite Shooting, BRA, Silver Eagle, Sharpshooters, Maryland Small Arms Range, and even a few north of Baltimore City but to no avail. I imagine that with the release of the P30's and VP9 series the USP 9 is not as popular.
