My thought exactly... I do like the 229 better myself, coming from someone who hasn't shot either pistol. The 229 just fits my hand better. -------------------------

your answer may be the sig pro (sp2022) as mentioned above. i have one in .40/.357sig and the good new is you can get one in 9mm from Top Gun Supply for a mere $500. It is similar (I can't tell the difference between it and the two 226's I have) in grip to the 226, lighter than the 226 ( a plus if you do decide to carry it - I carry mine in the winter months). The trigger is great and accuracy and reliability are there. Bottom line - for 500 bucks I don't think you can find a better pistol.

Could not have said it better! I love those ST's for Range, HD, & Steel shooting.

+1 on a 9mm 226. I'm nicky new guy when it comes to handguns and, on much good advice posted here, purchased this full size Sig and love it. very reasonable recoil, eats white box ammo, and I quickly adjusted to it--and pretty tight groups for a noob.

Just shot the 226 and 250 at my local range. Without a doubt the 250 is the better 9mm. The 226 has a sweet SA trigger and is nice that its "all metal" The DAO and light weight makes my recommendation the 250c sig. The three grip sizes should make a perfect fit for you. Or a Glock 19.
